Firmly rooted in the City of Perth, gateway to the Highlands of Scotland, Margaret Morrison Ltd began life in 1999 specialising in the production of Highland Regalia Leatherwork including Sporrans, Belts, Straps, Pipers Cross and Waist Belts. All goods are hand made to order using the best quality leather and skins. Whenever possible we source our components from local Scottish suppliers.

Some years ago we took the opportunity to incorporate Nicoll Bros. of Bankfoot into our business which allowed us to draw on Sporran manufacturing experience and expertise going back to the year 1834.

We produce a wide selection of Dress, Semi-Formal and Daywear Sporrans along with Military and Piping styles from catalogue designs or bespoke commissions, each made individually to order.

Marrying together traditional patterns and techniques with modern design, cutting and etching technology has allowed us to keep our products fresh and exciting which in turn helps promote Highland Wear as current and desirable in the modern world.

Sporrans have been worn to Wars and Weddings, Christenings and Funerals, we wear them to Parties and Graduations, to support our teams and to see in the New Year. When we put on a Kilt we become a celebrity of the occaision and we all know that celebrities demand the best!

We stock a range of sporrans specifically designed for boys of all ages, from a first small childrens sporran through primary school age medium sized sporrans and then the larger of the three for transition to an adult sporran.

We are happy to supply any spare parts for example:

• Tassels• D bars to hold chain straps• Sporran bells

Sporrans will eventually show signs of wear and tear, especially those used in hire departments. Again we are happy to quote for any repairs that will extend their useful life, for example:

• Re-stitching or replacing sporran backs• Re-mounting cantles• Repairing or replacing tassels

More detailed and delicate restorations can also be quoted for. This might include refurbishing of Horse or Goat hair sporrans or the repair and replacement of antique or brittle leather and skins.

We stock a selection of kilt straps in Black, Brown, Tan and Grey. Extension straps are also available for when Kilts shrink in the wardrobe!

Straps can be engraved with makers name or identification mark.

What you see here is our current product range, that is to say we endeavour to maintain component stocks for all the goods shown. However as we use many natural products (skins, hair and leathers) colours or shades may vary from time to time.

What we have shown is only a sample of the work we can undertake. All goods are produced here in our workshops so we are happy to take on any project or design idea you or your customers may have.

Who is Margaret Morrison?

What to call a new business is always a dilemma. Often the name will reflect the product or service provided, sometimes the town it is based in or the name of the owners.

In our case the name comes from two people, two very important people, our parents, their middle names to be exact, Margaret and Morrison.

Sadly since printing our last brochure we have lost them both, but their help, support, encouragement and humour will be long remembered.
