The FLSC Board is seeking a Membership Coordinator for
the 2019-20 season. The board meets at 6:30pm on the first
Tuesday of the month (except July) for one hour in Auburn.

FLSC Mission Statement: To promote, plan and participate in year-round recreational sport activities and social events in
the Finger Lakes area of New York State for adults and families. The focus is on winter weekend and week-long group
trips with local, national and European destinations for skiers and non-skiers alike.

President’s Perspective Winter is full blown now and most of us have hit
the slopes. It seems like new weather patterns are
affecting CNY, but we finally got two dumps of
snow with more on the way.
We just hosted our opening party in the Last Run
bar at Labrador Mountain on Sunday, January 27.
About 15 people attended after skiing, and we
welcomed a number of Onondaga Ski Clubers
too. Always a fun time with fellow skiers, and it
was good to try a new spot.
Our Nominating Committee is seeking members
who would like to serve on the FLSC board. We
meet at 6:30pm once a month on the first Tuesday
for about one hour. New ideas and new people
are always welcome. We are looking for someone
to take on the role of membership coordinator,
and need current board members who wish to be
president and secretary. Please contact Keek, Jay
or Art for more info.
Our annual club meeting with elections takes
place on Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00pm at the
Knights. And mark your calendar now for our
year-end ski banquet! Plans are still being made
but we will gather at The Sunset Restaurant in
Auburn at 5:00pm on Sunday, April 7. Details
coming soon.

FLSC is seeking a Membership Coordinator 2019-2020
The Nominating Committee is currently looking for a Membership Coordinator. Please consider the position
and contact Art Price, Jay Clark or Keek Bellen if interested! Deadline is March 1st for consideration!
The FLSC board meets at 6:30pm on the first Tuesday of the month (except July) for one hour. Location varies
depending on weather. The board is easy going and works well together.
Membership Coordinator Duties: To promote membership in and record all memberships of the
Club; send a renewal form to each member for annual dues in September of each year; maintain an
accurate membership mailing list, including email addresses.

Snowflake Advertisement Policy
Free Classified Ads:
Paid FLSC members only, may advertise for sale or rent in the Snowflake monthly newsletter.
The item information must be written up in paragraph form or a word document flier with a limit of 25 words.
Pictures may be included and used at the discretion of the newsletter editor. Ads will be published up to three
months. Depending on space availability, the ad may be posted to the FLSC website and/or facebook page. All items
sold or rented must be owned by the FLSC member. Ads are limited to one ad per paid member per month.Submit
your classified ads to [email protected] for approval before the 25th of each month to be included in the next
month's Snowflake newsletter.

The Benefits of a FLSC Membership: 2018-2019 FLSC MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS

Below are the 2018-2019 discounts you’ll receive when you show your FLSC
membership card at the ticket window!
Song & Labrador Mountains = $39 regular day lift ticket Greek Peak = $43 mid-week / $59 weekends & holidays Toggenburg = $35 mid-week / $40 weekends & holidays
Value added! As a Finger Lakes Ski Club member, you are automatically also a member of the much larger New Jersey Ski & Snowboard Council. They have lots of bargaining power with so many clubs and members across the Northeast. The New Jersey Ski & Snowboard Council offers their many members an opportunity to obtain discounted lift tickets from many ski areas, go on Council ski trips at discounted group rates, as well as participate in “Council Ski Days” at various Northeast mountains. The program is administered through the individual clubs; Finger Lakes Ski Club is an “associate” member. The program is for use by club members and their families only. Just show your FLSC membership card with the NJSSC sticker on the back at the ticket windows of the ski resorts listed and receive discounted rates on specific Council and Club dates. Through our partnership with the Onondaga Ski Club, it is also possible to pre-order discounted lift tickets in advance for some resorts for any date. These require ordering two weeks in advance through your club representative Paulette LeFever ([email protected] / 315-246-5053). As a NJSC member, you have three benefits and discounts: 1) Advance purchase lift tickets and Merchant / Ski Resort discounts when you present your ski / snowboard club membership ID card; 2) posted Council Discount Days at assorted resorts across the Northeast; and 3) ability to go on NJSSC trips. This year, they are advertising three great ski trips coming up in 2019 (Mount Washington, New Hampshire; Taos, New Mexico and Sunday River, Maine) plus loads of discounts.
