Becoming a FirefighterStep 1:Fulfill General Qualifications Before Applying -At least 18 years old -Excellent health -Possess high school diploma or GED -Possess valid drivers lincense -Ability to pass a background check

Step 2:Apply at the Auburn/Opelika Fire Department headquarters at

1015 Avenue BOpelika, Alabama 36803

Step 3:Pass Interview Process -Formal interview -Fitness test -Mental health exam

Training Days

The Auburn Fire Department is blessed to have access to facilities such as the “fire trailor.” This steel trailor was developed to create fires in the same manner that movie studios do for films. This allows the environment to be safe yet resemble a real-life hazardous situtation.
