The Cody Firearms Museum (CFM) is undergoing an exciting renovation between now and the summer 2019. The CFM houses most of the firearms in the collection, but did you know there are firearms in all five of the museums at the Center? While the museum undergoes renovation, please journey throughout the entire facility to see permanent and additional temporary installations of guns. And make sure to stop by the Special Exhibits gallery to see hundreds of the best firearms in the collection, learn about the history of the museum, and see more information on the renovation. While there, take advantage of our two touch screens, where you can see the entire collection online and even digitally curate your own exhibit!

in a way that harkens harkens back to the original Winchester Arms Museum from the 1980s at the Center.

Firearms and art have a lot in common. Throughout the Whitney Western Art Museum, take a look at the guns of mountain men such as Liver-Eating Johnson and Jedediah Strong Smith. Then stop by to see several firearms and their depictions in art, and peruse the Frederic Remington studio to see the embellished pieceshe saw as art.

Throughout the Plains Indian Museum, the listed permanent exhibits feature many facets of Plains Indian history and some firearms from their collection.
