Firestorm Armada Hardback Edion - Errata and Claricaons
Last Updated: 31st August 2012
The following document details the various amendments, errata and claricaons that have arisen from the FIRESTORMARMADAHardback
Edion rulebook.
FLEET CONSTRUCTION
Mixed SquadronsP24 Squadron OrganisaonAppend the following:
If the Cruisers forming a mixed Squadron have dierent maximum Squadron sizes, use the LOWEST maximum. Otherwise, suitable Cruisers
can be elded in any rao, as long as all Fleet wide restricons are adhered to.
Sub-DesignaonsP14 Carriers, P26 Game Type: Tournament Game
Append the following:
The Carrier Designaon also contains the Sub-Designaon of Bale Carrier.
P26 Game Type: Tournament Game
A Sub-Designaon is considered a separate Designaon from its parent Designaon for Maximum Percentage Value purposes, but both will
always share the same value.
Example: An Aquan Prime Fleet can contain 30% Carriers AND30% Bale Carriers.
Star AdmiralP25 Star Admiral
Claricaon:
Any opon listed as a model in the Fleet within 8 of the StarAdmiralsVessel can be performed by the StarAdmiralsVesselitself.
Alliance, League and Support FleetsP106 and P112
In each Maximum Percentage Value paragraph (one under Alliance Fleet, one under League Fleet and one under each Support Fleet) replace
the words Carriers (Excluding Wings) with:
Carriers (Including Wings)
Claricaon:
The Maximum Percentage Value presented on a League or Alliance models Stat Card or model entry in their Fleet List relates to the MPV
relevant in a Support Fleet. If these percentages dier, use the percentage presented in the Support Fleet secon on P106 or P112, NOT the
percentage on the Stat Card or model entry.
VICTORY POINTS
Victory PointsP27 Victory Points
Replace Escort models and Wings never award Victory Points. with:
Wings never award Victory Points and their Points Cost is NOT added to the Victory Points that a Carrierawards.
Claricaon:
Escorts DO now award Victory Points.
COHERENCY
Out of Command EectsP30 Coherency
Claricaon:
A Squadron can be Splitinto Elements. An Element is any model or group of models which are within Command Distance of one another. ONE
Element MUST be designated as the Commanded Element (if there is only one Element, it MUST be the Commanded Element).
Any Element which is NOT the Commanded Element is Out of Commandand as such CANNOT use Linked Fire or Combined Fire, CANNOT have
Game Cards played on it and CANNOT iniate a Boarding Assault.
Unless otherwise noted, if an Element moves back into Command Distance of a model in the Commanded Element, it IMMEDIATELY becomes
part of the Commanded Element and is no longer Out of Command.
The only other eect for being Out of Commandis that the Commanded Element MUST perform their movement BEFORE any other Elementsare moved.

COMBAT
Combat SequenceThe following chart describes the sequence of events for the Combat Segment of any Acvaon. This takes place aer the acve Squadron
completes ALL of its movement.
1. The acve Squadron declares ALLAacks from its Primaryand Torpedo weapon systems.
2. The acve Squadron resolves anyAacks with its Primaryweapon systems, in any order decided by the controlling player. For each
Aack:
a. Roll AackDice
b. Roll Shield Dice and perform other relevant acons
c. Calculate the total number of hits
d. Apply damage, make Crical Hit rolls and apply eects, remove any Destroyedmodels
3. Any Squadrons targetedby TorpedoAacks declare ALLDefensive Fire, including how the Defensive Fire pool will be allocated be-
tween the incomingAacks.
4. The acve Squadron resolves anyAacks with its Torpedo weapon systems SIMULTANEOUSLY. For eachAack:
a. Roll AackDice
b. Roll Defensive Fire Dice
c. Roll Shield Dice and perform other relevant acons
d. Calculate the total number of hits, aer Shields, Defensive Fire and so forth are applied
5. Apply damage from ALLTorpedo weapon systems, make Crical Hit rolls and apply eects, remove any Destroyedmodels.
Important Note:As TorpedoAacks occur SIMULTANEOUSLY available Point Defence DOES NOT need to be recalculated between each Torpedo
Aack.
Mines
P50 MinesClaricaon:
An exploding mine interrupts a Squadrons movement, as it happens IMMEDIATELY when a model moves within 4 of an enemy Mine. You DO
NOT complete the rest of the models movement unl aer resolving theAack.
Crical HitsP52 Damaging a Model
Replace If the number of hits equals, or exceeds, a models CR you roll on the Crical Hit Table found on Page 125 with the following:
If the number of hits equals, or exceeds, a models CR the player who made the aack rolls on the Crical Hit Table found on Page 125
P52 Crical Hit Table
Append the following:
The Point Defence Oine, Systems Oine, Weapon Damage, Engine Failure, Containment Leak and Secondary Systems Oine Crical Hit
Eects DO NOT have cumulave eects, however, if a model receives this Eect more than once, ALL instances must be repaired before the
system is restored.
P125 Crical Hit Table
Replace the Decompression Crical Hit Eect with the following:
This model loses ONECrew Point(CP)/Assault Point(AP) (highest rst) and gains a Decompression Marker.
P125 Damage Repair Tests
Aer the Important Noteappend the following:
In the Damage Repair Segment of the End Phase a Damage RepairTest can be made for each instance of a Point Defence Oine, Systems Of-
ine, Weapon Damage, Engine Failure, Containment Leak and Secondary Systems Oine Crical Hit Eect on a model, but ALL instances must
be repaired before the system is restored.

BOARDING ASSAULTS
Boarding Assault SequenceThe following chart describes the sequence of events for the Boarding Segment of any Acvaon. This takes place aer the acve Squadron
completes ALL of its combat.
1. Each eligible model within the acve Squadron may declare a Boarding Assault against a valid target.
2. Calculate the total number ofAssault Points directed at each target. This is the Boarding Assault Strength.
3. Each Boarding Assault may have ONEAn-Boarding Point Defence acon declared against it.
4. ResolveAn-Boarding Point Defence acons, and reduce the Boarding Assault Strength of each BoardingAssaultas necessary.
5. For each Boarding Assault, combine the targetmodels current Assault Points and Crew Points to determine its Boarding Assault
Strength.
6. For each Boarding Assault, both sides SIMULTANEOUSLY roll a number ofAackDice equal to their BoardingAssaultStrength.
7. Calculate the total number of hits caused by each side and reduce each sides Boarding Assault Strength appropriately.
8. By comparing the remaining BoardingAssaultStrengths, determine whether the Assault Succeeded or Failed.
9. Aer any Boarding Assault, any model which declared a Boarding Assault has its Assault Points reduced to 0. The targetmodels re-
maining Boarding Assault Strength reverts to Assault Points and Crew Points (losses divided as evenly as possible). Destroyedmodelsare then removed and Sabotage damage is applied.
Example: A Squadron of three Veydreth Stalker Class Assault Cruisers ends its movement within 4 of two Kedorian Gai-Shar Class Destroyers
and a Kedorian Zhou-Nor Class Carrier.
Upon entering the Boarding Segment of their Acvaon, the Assault Cruisers declare their Boarding Assaults. TWO of the Cruisers iniate an
Assault against the Carrier, giving them a Boarding Assault Strength of (6 + 6) 12. The remaining Assault Cruiser targets one of the Destroyers,
having a Boarding Assault Strength of6.
The Destroyer Squadron declares itsAn-Boarding Point Defence, Linking their Point Defence values against the incoming Assault against the
Destroyer for (3 + 1) 4AD.
As there is a Kedorian Dei-Nak Class Baleship Squadron within 4 of the targetCarrier, the Kedorian player elects to use its Point Defence
systems in place of the Carriers, giving 7AD for theAn-Boarding Point Defence.
The Veydreth player chooses to resolve the Assault against the Destroyer rst. The Kedorian player rolls the 4An-Boarding Point Defence AD,
rolling 3 successes and reducing the Cruisers Boarding Assault Strength to 3. The Destroyer then adds its Crew Points of3 to its Assault Points
of1 to give a Boarding Assault Strength of4.
Both players then roll their Boarding Assault Strength as Aack Dice. The Destroyer scores 2 successes and the Cruiser scores 3, neither enough
to reduce the opponents Boarding Assault Strength to 0. As such the Assault has Failed, BUT as the Veydreth scored more successes they can
Sabotage the Capital Class Destroyer. The Assault Cruisers Boarding Assault Strength is now reduced to 0, so it has NOAssault Points remain-
ing. The Destroyer has 1 remaining, which it elects to return as a Crew Point, so it has 0Assault Points and 1 Crew Point le.
The Veydreth player then rolls for Sabotage, scoring a 10, or Containment Leak on the Crical Hit Table, causing the eect and TWO points of
Hull Damage.
The Assault against the Carrier is then resolved. The Kedorian player rolls 7AD for theAn-Boarding Point Defence, scoring 4 successes andreducing the Boarding Assault Strength from the Assault Cruisers to 8. The Carrier then adds its Crew Points of8 to its Assault Points of4 to
give a Boarding Assault Strength of12.
Both players then roll their Boarding Assault Strength as Aack Dice. The Carrier scores 7 successes, and the Cruisers an unexpected 14!
The Cruisers Boarding Assault Strength drops to 1 and the Carriers to 0. Therefore, the Boarding Assault was a Success and the Carrier is
Destroyed. The Cruisers remaining Boarding Assault Strength is lost, leaving them with 0 Assault Points on each model, and the Carrier is
removed from the Game Board.
To summarise: at the end of the Boarding Segment all three Veydreth Assault Cruisers have 0Assault Points remaining, one Kedorian Destroyer
has 0 Assault Points, 1Crew Point, 2 Hull Damage and the Containment Leak Crical Eect and the Kedorian Carrier is Destroyed.
An-Boarding Point DefenceP55 Boarding Procedure
Append the following:Important Note: Only ONEAn-Boarding Point Defence acon can be declared against each Boarding Assault, and only models in the same
Squadron may Link or Combine their re (p46). As such the targetplayer MUST choose which of the Squadrons within 4 of the targetthey
want to use itsAn-Boarding Point Defence. Normally this will just be the targetmodels Squadron, however in some instances (say a Baleship
and Escorts posioned near a Cruiser Squadron) it may be benecial to use a dierent Squadron.

Resolving Boarding AssaultsP55 Resolving Boarding Assaults
Replace the secon with the following:
For the aacking models the current Boarding Assault Strength is the remaining total aerAn-Boarding Point Defence re. For a Flight the
Boarding Assault Strength isthe current number ofAssault Points in the Flight aer Point Defence Aacks.
The targetmodel MUST allocate its ENTIRE current Assault Point value and its ENTIRE current Crew Point value to defend against the Boarding
Assault, the total is the targetmodels Boarding Assault Strength.
Important Note: A Carriermodel CAN add the AP from any Assaulter Wings to help defend itself during a Boarding Assault, but only if they are
onboard. If they do add their AP the Assaulter Flight CANNOTLaunch during the current Turn. A CarrierCANNOT use the AP from its onboardAssaulter Wings when it iniates a Boarding Assault however.
Each sides current Boarding Assault Strength is the number ofAackDice they roll against the opposing side in any Boarding Assault. Both
sides roll their Aack Dice and cause casuales SIMULTANEOUSLY.
All Boarding Assault AackDice will require a 4, 5 or 6 to hit.
Each hit by the targetmodel will reduce the aackers Boarding Assault Strength by 1.
Each hit by the aackers will reduce the targets Boarding Assault Strength by 1.
P55 Winning a Boarding Assault
Replace the secon with the following:
Once both sides have rolled their Aack Dice and calculated their casuales, compare the remaining Boarding Assault Strength of the aack-ing model/s to the remaining Boarding Assault Strength of the target model.
If the aackers Boarding Assault Strength is greater than 0, and the Boarding Assault Strength of the targetmodel is reduced to 0, the target
model is Destroyed, and the remainder of the aackers Boarding Assault Strength is lost.
IfBOTH the aackers AND the targetsBoarding Assault Strength are greater than 0 the Assault has Failed and no further acon is taken (un-
less eligible for Sabotage as below).
If the aackers Boarding Assault Strength is reduced to 0, regardless of the number of casuales caused, the Boarding Assault has Failed and
no further acon is taken.
Once the Success or Failure of the Boarding Assault has been determined, the remainder of the aackers Boarding Assault Strength is reduced
to 0 and the aacking model/s DO NOT regain any Assault Points. The targetmodels remaining Boarding Assault Strength returns to being its
Crew Points and Assault Points. Any losses from the Boarding Assault Strength are split as evenly as possible between the two, starng withwhichever is highest. Lost CP and AP are indicated by the appropriate Damage markers.
Important Note: Even if a Boarding Assault has Failed, any loss ofCP or AP from the targetmodel sll stands, and may aect the models capa -
bilies (see Modiers to Aack Dice on Page 44).
Important Note: A Boarding Assault is ALWAYS resolved within a single round, even if no casuales are caused by either side, the aacking
model always loses any remaining AssaultPoints and the Boarding Assault ends.
EXAMPLE: A Sorylian Carrier is boarded by a Dindrenzi Baleship. The Baleship has a current AP of4 giving it a Boarding Assault Strength of
4 and so it rolls 4D6, geng 2, 4, 6 and 6 (and an extra roll of 2 and 5) for 6 hits. The Carrier (having taken crical damage earlier in the bale)
has a current AP of3 and CP of2. As such it has a Boarding Assault Strength of5 and rolls 5D6, scoring 3 hits. As a result, the Carriers Board-
ingAssaultStrengthis reduced to 0, and the Baleships Boarding Assault Strength is reduced to 1.
EXAMPLE: In the example above, as the Carriers BoardingAssaultStrengthis reduced to 0, and the Baleships Boarding Assault Strength isGREATER than 0, the Carrier is Destroyed.
EXAMPLE: If instead the Baleship had caused 4 hits, the Carrier would sll have Boarding Assault Strength remaining, and the Assault would
have Failed. The Baleships remaining AP would be lost and the Carrier is le with 1 Crew Point but, as the Baleship caused more hits, the
Carrier would be Sabotaged (See Below).
EXAMPLE: If instead both the Baleship and the Carrier caused 5 hits, both sides would lose ALL of their Boarding Assault Strength, the Carrier
would have no CP or AP le, but it would be otherwise unaected.

FLIGHTS
Flight ComposionP34 Carrier Models
Replace the sentence:
At the start of any game a Carriermodel either has a compliment of Wings equal to its Fleet Wing value OR has 0 Wings on the model.
With:
At the start of any game a Carriermodel can contain a compliment of Wings up to but not exceeding its Fleet Wing value, purchased when
building the Fleet.
P34 FlightsDelete the Important Note:
If the Wings on a Carriermodel are organised as 2 Flights, the number of Wings in each Flight MUST be as equal as possible across both
Flights.
Replace the EXAMPLE with the following:
A Carrier model with a Fleet Wing value of6 could have one Flight of6 Wings, it could have a Flight of1 Wing and a Flight of3 Wings, it could
have TWO Flights of3 Wings or any other combinaon as long as it does not have more than 2 Flights and 6 Wings in total.
Flights Making AacksP41 Declaring Primary and Torpedo Aacks
Append the following:
Important Note: A Flight can only targetONE model in a single Acvaon, regardless of how many models in is in contact with.
P49 Cloaking Field
Claricaon:
Cloaking Fields DO NOT aect the to Hit numbers of a Flight, as Flights use Torpedo weapons, NOTPrimaryweapons.
Point DefenceP34 Weapon Stats, P41 Defensive Acons, P49 Defensive Fire
At the end of each of these secons, append the following:
Torpedo weaponAacks from Flights CANNOT be reduced by Defensive Fire. However, the Flight itself may lose Wings from Point Defence
Aacks when it moves within 4 a model.
Example: A Flight of5 Torpedo Bomber Wings moves toAacka Cruiser, when it moves within 4 of the rst modelin the Squadron it suers a
Point Defence Aackand loses a Wing, it then moves within 4 of the model it wishes toAack, and suers another Point Defence Aack, this
me emerging unscathed. It then moves into base contact with its targetand rolls its 12AD (4 Wings x 3 AD) against which NODefensive Fire
acon can be made.
P46 Linked Fire
Append the following:
Example: A Squadron of three Cruisers wishes to Aack a Flight of4 Assaulter Wings with its Point Defence systems. It moves the rst two
Cruisers, making sure to nish their movement within 4 of the Flight. The third Cruiser then moves up to within 4 of the Flight and declares a
Point Defence Aack, as the other models in its Squadron are also in range, they may Link their PointDefence with the third Cruiser. Once the
Aackhas been resolved, the third Cruiser may complete its movement, however the other two Cruisers CANNOT move any further.
P55 Boarding Procedure
Append the following:
Boarding Assaults from Flights are not aected byAn-Boarding Point Defence like Boarding Assaults from models. Instead, they may be
subject to Point Defence Aacks during their movement, whenever they move within 4 of an enemy model. This damages the Assaulter Flight
itself, rather than just its Boarding Assault Strength.
Example: A Flight of4 Assaulter Wings moves to iniate a Boarding Assault against a Cruiser. As in the example above when it moves within 4
of the rst modelin the Squadron it suers a Point Defence Aackand loses a Wing, it then moves within 4 of the model it wishes to iniate
a Boarding Assault against, and suers another Point Defence Aack, this me emerging unscathed. It then moves into base contact with its
targetand declares its Boarding Assault. Its Boarding Assault Strength is now 3 and the Boarding Assault is resolved as normal, but no models
can declareAn-Boarding Point Defence against it.
Claricaon:
Flights CANNOT perform or assist inAn-Boarding Point Defence.

Acvaon SequenceThe following chart describes the sequence of events for a Flights Acvaon.
1. MovementSegment: perform ALL movement for the acve Flight
If, at any point during this movement, an eligible model wishes to perform a Point Defence Aack, pause the Flights move-
ment, resolve theAack, then resume the Flights movement.
If, at any point during this movement, an eligible Flight wishes to perform an Intercept Move, pause the acve Flights
movement, resolve the Intercept Move and subsequent Point Defence Aacks, then resume the Flights movement.
2. Combat Segment: A Bomber or Fighter Flight may perform a Torpedo Aackagainst a model it is in contact with. For thisAack:
1. Roll AackDice equal to the number of Wings in the Flight, mulplied by the Aack Dice rang of one Wing.
2. Roll Shield Dice and perform other relevant acons (this Torpedo Aackis NOT aected by Defensive Fire)
3. Calculate the total number of hits, aer Shields and so forth are applied
4. Apply damage, make Crical Hit rolls and apply eects, remove any Destroyedmodels
3. Boarding Segment: An Assaulter Flight may iniate a Boarding Assault against a model it is in contact with. This is resolved as follows:
1. The total number ofAssault Points directed at the targetis equal to the number of Wings in the Assaulter Flight, mulplied
by the number ofAssaultPoints in each Wing. This is the Flights Boarding Assault Strength.
2. Combine the targetmodels current Assault Points and Crew Points to determine its Boarding Assault Strength.
3. Both sides SIMULTANEOUSLY roll a number ofAackDice equal to their BoardingAssaultStrength.
4. Calculate the total number of hits caused by each side and reduce each sides Boarding Assault Strength appropriately.
5. By comparing the remaining BoardingAssaultStrengths, determine whether the Assault Succeeded or Failed.
6. If the Boarding Assault Succeeded, the targetis Destroyed.
7. If the Boarding Assault Failed;
i. If the targetrolled fewer hits than the Flight, the targetmay be Sabotaged
ii. Otherwise, no further acon is taken
8. The Assaulter Flight is removed from the Game Boardandthe targetmodels remaining Boarding Assault Strength reverts
to Assault Points and Crew Points (losses divided as evenly as possible). Destroyedmodels are then removed and Sabotage
damage is applied.
MODEL ASSIGNED RULES
Bigger BaeriesReplace with the following:
The Point Defence systems on this model have a Range of8 for Point Defence Aacks andAn-Boarding Point Defence. However, if the target
lies within 4 and 8 of this model, ClearLine of Sight is required to the target.
Elusive TargetAdd the following:
This model is only hit on a 6 with Primaryor Torpedo weapons systemAacks from CapitalClass models, and on a 5 or 6 by non-CapitalClass
models.

DisruptorReplace with the following:
Aer the Combat Segment a Squadron containing models with the DisruptorMAR may make a Disrupon Aackagainst a single enemy
model. Each model contribung to thisAackMUST have ClearLine of Sight to the target.
Roll a D6, adding 1 to the result for each model aer the rst which is contribung to theAack.
If the targetis within Range Band 1, theAacksucceeds on a 4, 5 or 6. If the targetis within Range Band 2, theAacksucceeds on a 5 or 6. If
the targetis within Range Band 3 or 4, theAacksucceeds on a 6. The Range is measured from the furthest contribung model.
If theAackis successful, roll a second D6:
On the result of a 1 the target suers a Point Defence Oine Crical Hit Eect
On the result of a 2 the target suers a Engine Failure Crical Hit Eect
On the result of a 3 the target suers a Weapon Damage Crical Hit Eect
On the result of a 4, 5 or 6 the target suers a Secondary Systems Oine Crical Hit Eect
The targetmodel does not take any Hull Point damage associated with taking a Crical Hit. Flight Tokens cannot be the target of a Disrupon
Aack.
A model CANNOT make a Disrupon Aackif its Cloaking Field is turned on.
Protected SystemsReplace the last sentence with the following:
On a result of1 this model must perform ONE addional roll on the Crical Hit Table, suering the addional Crical Hit Eect, but NOT theassociated damage.
SHIELD PROJECTORAppend with the following:
If a model with the Shield ProjectorMAR also has the Sector Shielding MAR, it CAN choose to use Sector Shielding on its ShieldSphere. For the
remainder of the Turn, if anyAackoriginates from within this models designated Arc and res into or through the ShieldSphere en route to
its target, the targetcan use the increased Shield value. However anyAackpassing through the Sphere which DOES NOT originate from within
the designated Arc is aected by the reduced Shield value.
Stealth SystemsReplace with the following:
AnyAackagainst a model with the Stealth SystemsMAR must re-roll ALL successful rolls if any weapon in theAackis ring at Range Band 3
or Range Band 4. This reroll is performed BEFORE any extra rolls for Exploding Dice, and before Hits are discounted by Shield Systems or Point
Defence. Only ONE dice is re-rolled for any 6s scored. The second result MUST be accepted.
Systems NetworkReplace with the following:
The Cloaking Field on this model will aect any friendly model from the same Squadron, including any aached Escort Squadron model, whose
Flight Peg is within 4 of its Flight Peg and which ALSO has the Systems NetworkMAR. The Cloaking Field must be turned on to be eecve and
a model can only benet from a maximum ofONE Cloaking Field.
Target ResoluonReplace with the following:
This models Parent Model receives a +1 bonus to hit on its Aack Dice (AD) rolls when ring its Primaryand Torpedo weapon systems if the
targetmodels Flight Peg is within 8 of this models Flight Peg. The maximum bonus to any Parent Model from the Target ResoluonModel
Assigned Rule is +1.
Torpedo Spook and Stealth SystemsClaricaon: The forced re-rolls of successful dice happens BEFORE6s grant their extra rolls, and only ONE dice is re-rolled for each 6, the op-
ponent CANNOT gain addional Aack Dice or Point Defence as a result of these MARs.
