Thank you for attending the 2017, 7th Annual King’s Ball.

Responder Rescue and the King’s Ball have certainly come a long way in the past 7 years. All of our success and growth are thanks to donations from sponsors in our community and help from our many volunteers. It is amazing what we can achieve when everyone comes together.

The King’s Ball has been called the party of the year by many of our dedicated supporters. This particular event is more than just a “party,” but helps multiple beneficiaries throughout the year. This has become our largest fundraiser raising more charitable funds for Responder Rescue than any other event. Every dollar we take in today will help a first responder tomorrow.

Since implementing our H.E.R.O. (Helping Emergency Responders Overcome) program in conjunction with Millennium Group, American Addiction Association and SSM physicians and professionals, we have helped many first responders and their families. PTSD and other mental health issues are never easy topics for people to talk about or seek help for and we are proud to provide a safe place for those who need it.

I would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support of Responder Rescue. It is an honor to be the president and founder of such a great organization comprised of selfless individuals who work tirelessly to help our charity succeed. We would not be able to do what we do without you.

Firefighters from the St. Louis area established Responder Rescue in 2009. They have seen first hand, during their careers, individuals who have been left financially and emotionally devastated after an unforeseen injury or illness. Responder Rescue was created to try and help those individuals after all other resources have been exhausted.

Responder Rescue’s goal as a 501(c)(3) organization provides citizens and corporations an organization they can contribute to when asking themselves: “How can I help those individuals in need who have helped so many?” Responder Rescue will provide assistance to our responders through fundraisers and donations given by our citizens, communities and local corporations.

Responders will not only receive financial assistance, but also a place where corporations or citizens can donate non-financial items that might be available. Responder Rescue Inc. has also teamed up with other local charities providing them with volunteers and an avenue to raise money for firefighters, police officers and EMS Workers.

The charitable purpose of Responder Rescue is to provide assistance to police officers, firefighters, and EMS workers who have suffered a traumatic injury, illness, or other unforeseen hardship beyond their control and have limited financial means. Responder Rescue provides monetary assistance, services, and goods to ensure that such individuals and their families have basic necessities such as food, housing, transportation, and medical care (including psychological help) during their time of need. Responder Rescue seeks to minimize the suffering caused by such traumatic events and allow first responders and their families to return to normalcy as best as possible.

Over the years, there have been a growing number of our local Police, Firefighters and EMS workers who have suffered severe and traumatic injuries and illnesses on and off duty. Unfortunately, there is only so much their insurance companies and the departments they work for can do to help. One of the worst things that can happen to a Firefighter, Police Officer or EMS worker is an unforeseen injury or illness. Our organization is volunteer based. Our volunteers work hard to organize and put on several events throughout the year. We are always looking for dedicated volunteers.
