There are many ways to express love to those around you----your neighbors, your family members, and your enemies. Just as love is expressed in different ways, people sense or receive love in differ-ent ways as well. In his helpful little book The Five Languages of Love, Gary Chapman lists five ways people give and receive love.

Physical touch - Gift giving - Quality time Words of encouragement - Acts of service

Agape love----sacrificial commitment, dedicated to the well-being of another. Phileo love----brotherly affection. Eros love----sexual affection.

Goodness is love choosing - Faithfulness is love keeping its word. Gentleness is love being able to empathize - Self-control is love being in charge.

This kind of love is not something we can work up on our own;; it is an outflow of the Holy Spirit. The second kind of love mentioned is phileo.

The third kind of love is eros. This is sensual or sexual love. Although the world has tried its best to distort this---and this seems to be the type of love that is written about, sung about, and acted out the most God invented eros love for the most intimate part of marriage. I think that sums up the definitions and also gives us the background that John was setting for us,

Jesus Universal Law. Love the Lord thy God. Love thy neighbor as thyself. Do you love God?

Is he priority one in your life? Do you love your neighbor? By the way your neighbor is anyone you meet, a brother or a sister in need. Someone Everything. Love made His only begotten son so love us that he died. He gave the ultimate, his life

for mine and yours. WE LOVE HIM BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US!!!!

Seven Expressions of Love: - God expresses His love through creation. The trees, the lovely flowers, the gorgeous mountains, the bright stars. - God expresses His love in giving us the freedom to choose. He delights when we choose to love Him out of our free will, which in love He gave us. - God expresses His love by putting us in a family. I love this truth and to think I have a supernatural Father who cares for me beyond compre-hension. You and I are part of a large family---God is Father, Jesus Christ is our elder Brother, the Holy Spirit is our indwelling Comforter. - God expressed His love in sending the Holy Spirit to live within us. He did not just love us;; He empowered us to love Him and others! - God expresses His love by engineering our circumstances for our good and His glory. Almost everyone can quote Romans 8:28, but few of us really grab hold of the truth that He loves us enough to make all things work together for good. - God expresses His love toward us by providing heaven. His son is still busy preparing a place for us, and we get there only by the grace of God. - s 13:5). This Presence is there during the death of loved ones;; during sleepless nights over a wayward child;; during bad results from medical tests;; during fi-nancial woes.

A CHURCH WITH LOVE By: Pastor Warren E. Amlet

The Vision of First Baptist Church South Portsmouth is based on Luke 4:18 -19. This is a ministry of helping people to get to the next level in their walk with God by helping the poor, healing the hurt, proclaiming freedom, restoring sight to those spiritually blind, releasing the op-pressed, and to preach the good news of Jesus Christ with signs following. Recognizing that God is a God of purpose, FBCSP maintains an atmosphere where people can freely worship God, embrace His Word, ex-perience His power and walk in His purpose.

Many of you have already been introduced to Kingdom Builders Ministries (KBM). As Kingdom Builders, we are determined to preach Jesus through mentoring and other activities designed for the youth by sharing that "Jesus is love", "Jesus is forgiv-ing", and "Jesus is faithful". We have a pas-sion for those who are lost, broken and in need of deliverance. We realize many of them are not willing to go to church, so we take Christ to them. I am pleased to report that we continue to war on the battlefield for the Lord. In July, KBM sponsored an outreach in the London Oaks community. We had the oppor-tunity to pray, to feed, and to lead people to Christ. It was humbling to watch the move of God as we shared our personal experiences. Many participants were healed and delivered by the word of our testimonies. Additionally, in

September, KBM ministered to an audience at Zion Bethel United Church of Christ through a skit called "From the Inside Out". This too was an exciting time to sharing in the Lord. I was also blessed to be in-terviewed by the 700 Club in July. The story will air some-time between October and November of this year. It cov-ers my life including my jour-ney from drug abuse to deliv-erance. I am so grateful for all that God is doing thru evangelizing and through sharing our testimonies. We Pray for teachers of FBCSP

Dear Lord, bless these teachers mightily as they seek to teach, enrich and guide

Your precious children. Grant them abundant resources to do their job, intelligence, wisdom, sensitivity, kindness, and the material things that make it possible to turn some of these tender green plants

into the strong, stable trees that will lead our nation, to transform some of these buds into brilliant flowers

that will bring light, color and happiness to all who encounter them,

and to give every one of them the tools to be creative, and productive and to develop their own kind of success in the world.

Lord, wrap Your loving arms around these teachers who give so much of themselves to grow our youth

into creative, responsible adults. We pray that You will immerse them in your boundless, transcendent love.

We pray that You will strengthen and soothe them when they have given so much of themselves

that they need Your extra attention, Your extra care. We love, respect and admire these teachers, Lord and we pray that you will watch over them always--

these special people who hold our children and our future in their hands.

Amen. By Joanna Fuchs

Let us explore worship through dance;; in these days and times there are many forms of inter-preting dance. My two personal favorites are praise dancing and mime dancing because both forms of the ministry allow you to be spontaneous.. Both forms are a way of expressing your own praise for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through the movement of dance. Just as pas-tors are inspired to craft sermons;; dancing for the glory of "GOD" is a total act of worship. This allows your mind and eyes to take you on a spiritual journey by seeing the movements and ex-pressions of the dance. This also allows the dancer to use their bodies as a temple to the Lord.

When Praise Dancing you move with the music more;; the person is still expressing what the lyrics in the song are saying but more rhythmical. Praise Dancing reveals graceful flow through movements and demonstrates a sense of peace, wor-ship;; and movement of elegance.

P A G E 7

Praise Dancers & Mime Ministry

V O L U M E 1 , I S S U E 3

Psalm 150: verse 1 reads "PRAISE ye the Lord, Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power."

Through dancing the faithful servant shows their intimacy and devotion to their Lord.

More people are familiar with mime dancing, but most do not know the difference between praise dancing and Mime Dancing. Mime dancing involves using facial expressions, gestures, and movement to speak to an audience. When you add the painted white face along with music and dance, you get a form of praising that is dramatic and intriguing.

When a servant of the Lord mime dances they are expressing out feeling, thoughts, and images that are expressed in the song. The main purpose of a mime dancer is to connect with the congregation through musical gospel without words. When this is accomplished, the word of God is bought to life with great intensity and divine excellence.

I am honored to have had this opportunity to express my personal feelings towards the difference in the two forms of dance. My passion and goal is to teach others how to express, worship, and give praise through dance;; whether is it to Praise Dance or Mime Dance. Just remember when dancing you are not performing, but rather glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through the form of DANCING!!!!!

Three Questions to Ask Yourself When Selecting a Bible: The most important factor in selecting the right Bible is to learn what you want and need. To accomplish this, we recommend you ask the following "qualifying" questions. They're designed to un-cover what you are look-ing for, even when you may not know yourself. The three basic questions are who , how , and what . We hope this simple guide will help you choose the perfect Bible for your spiritual needs.

QUESTION #1 Who is the Bible for?

QUESTION #2 How will the Bible be used?

QUESTION #3 What is your translation pref-erence? Knowing the an-swers to these three sim-ple ques-tions will help you speed up your search for the perfect Bible.

Would you believe me if I told you the devil has gone viral? Believe it! The internet is polluted with vulgar and behavior unbecoming of Christians, especially our Christian teens in the community. The internet is very influential and when used properly can be an awesome

more we find the world influencing our youth more than the Word. As a Christian family, we have to

school and in public. Social Networking behavior should be no different or you lose your privilege. Stated by Christian blogger Wanda Bell in, Should a Christian use social networking tools (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, blogs, etc.)? Social media allows us to reenter the daily lives of

ing comment and pictures you should always remember social networking is observe and accessible

1 John 3:4-10 Everyone who sins breaks the law;; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that He appeared so that He might take away our sins. And in Him is no sin. No one who lives in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen Him or known Him. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, be-cause God's seed remains in him;; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who

does not do what is right is not a child of God;; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

Just like face-to- ment, and then build on that foundation and share the love of Christ with new online friends. Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Always remember, as a member of First Baptist Church South Portsmouth, you represent your church family. At all times, we pray that you up-

nversation that is not pleasing to our Father, take that opportunity to minister and pray for that individual. Proverb 12:26-28 A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray. The lazy man does not roast his game, but the diligent

man prizes his possessions. In the way of righteousness there is life;; along that path is immortality.

2 Timothy 2:19-23 names the name

of Christ[c] But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. Flee also youthful lusts;; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. Credit
