First Bapti s t Church’s
August 24, 2016 September Newsletter
“Where CHRIST Is the Center”
From the Pastor... One more time, I want to thank you for the wonderful way you have supported our August Sunday Evening Revival Series. Thank you for coming, thank you for cooking, thank you for serving, thank you for welcoming guests, and thank you for worshipping with enthusiasm! We were blessed to have great speakers, but I want you to know that you were a blessing to our speakers by the way you attended and listened! Continue to pray for and participate in our Wednesday evening Children's Ministry. I appreciate our four teams of workers and all their efforts! If you are not on-duty with the children and not in choir, please join us in the Fellowship Hall for Adult Bible Study at 6 pm. We are currently studying the Book of James—it is a practical and to-the-point letter written by the half-brother of Jesus to Christians who were struggling with life in their first-century world. You'll be surprised by how much of what James said applies to our 21
st century world as well.
Finally, let me tell you about two new opportunities starting on Sunday, September 11
th. The first is a
brief morning prayer time each Sunday at 9:30 am...just before Sunday School. We'll use this time to pray specifically for our church, our ministries, and especially our worship services. The second is a new Sunday School class...the Pastor's Class. If you are a new member, or if you are not enrolled in a Sunday School class already, please come. We'll be studying basics for believers each Sunday morning at 9:45 am. Brother Ed

For September we are collecting:
canned soups. Dear Church Family, I want to say thank you for your prayers over the past 3 years. There wasn’t a day that went by that someone didn’t tell me that they were praying for me. I was truly blessed by that and I defi-nitely felt those prayers. Please continue to pray for our church staff and our new deacon officers. Serving as deacon chair for one year can be a difficult task, let alone 3 years. I can honestly say that the past 3 years have been very rewarding due to the great people of 1
st Baptist
Church. We have accomplished many things together through our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and I can’t wait to see the plans that the Lord has for this staff and this church.
