First Bapti s t Church’s “Where CHRIST Is the Center”
From the Pastor... I want to thank you all for your very good response to the new Bible study groups that have been formed. New small groups help us to stay fresh and to keep growing in knowledge and spirit. We have two new small groups that are meeting on both Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. The men's group is studying the book, "How to Be a Man." The ladies' group is studying the book, "The Frazzled Female." The content is the same on Wednesdays and Sundays. You don't have to attend both sessions. We are simply offering these studies twice a week so folks have more than one opportunity to attend. Come to the session that best fits your schedule. Last Wednesday evening, we had 26 in these two groups! That's great! Thank you, Michael and Abby Crews, for leading these two groups! That means we now have a wide variety of ministry settings on Wednesday evenings at 6pm—we have Children's Ministry, Youth Ministry, a small group for men, a small group for ladies, the more traditional Bible study for adults (co-ed), and choir practice. If you are not yet involved in one of these Wednesday evening groups or Sunday morning small groups or traditional Sunday School classes, I invite you to give one of them a try. I think you will enjoy the fellowship and the learning! Don't forget that there is also a great supper served every Wednesday evening at 5pm. Sign up for supper in the Welcome Area next to the choir's rehearsal room. In September, we will be adding two more groups that will meet on Sunday evenings. One group will be a men's study group led by Marvin Salter. The other group will be a ladies' study group led by LoriAnne Skidmore. These groups will run for the "Seven Sunday Nights" in September and October before the holiday season begins. These groups will offer a great opportunity for learning, discipleship, and fellowship. I will be there. I trust you will be there, too. These groups will begin meeting on Sunday evening, September 10
th, at 5pm.
I also want to thank you for your response to our survey about the experimental summer Sunday morning hours. You gave us plenty of data to work with, and we will be sharing that data with you soon as we begin to evaluate any potential changes in our worship hours. In the meantime, we will resume our regular Sunday morning schedule on September 3
rd. Sunday School will be
at 9:45am, and worship will be at 11am. See you there!

FBC Geneva is partnering with Mulkey Elementary to provide $10 and $20 Walmart gift cards for use in the Guidance and Nurse’s Office. Students often arrive at school needing shoes, shirts, pants, jackets, underwear, backpacks, and even
basic school supplies. Our teachers often pay to provide these items out of their own pocket. The ability to furnish these offices with ready funds for immediate help will bless our students and teachers. You can drop off cards at the church office or give designated offerings. Thank you!
