Interview was with Vice President of Operations and also a questions and answers session with representatives from Bellevue University on MBA, and Contact Center Management & Leadership Program custom designed particularly for First Data by Bellevue University. I was provided 15 minutes before the session provided him with copy of the questions of how First Data is developing as a learning organization and the emphasis was on educational opportunities self developed, traditional education, and internal corporate university.1

Prepared questions:1. How do define Organizational Learning?A) Answer to engage all employees at all levels across (business, products, sales, technology, and leadership)2. Is Organizational Training the same thing as training and development?A) No for first data is divided to self developed learning through the corporate university, compliance training, and promotion of individual self-growth.3. How do we as an organization develop and retain organizational knowledge?A) This is done through the intranet where there are many tools for making suggestions or capturing new ideas changing and updating new ways and methods of doing things.4. Since First Data is technology driven company how does that affect the learning environment?A) It does not affect just first data is using technology to learn, to teach and to develop the organization.5. How do business operations affect organizational learning? A) Business operations are more efficient if Organizational learning is increased due to employees have 24/7 access to information classes which if utilized by employees will increase employee knowledge and provide additional resources to conduct business operations.

What is the present focus on creating a learning culture?A) Providing the best internal and external training and partnership with Bellevue.8. What will the emphasis going forward into the future?The corporate learning culture is already global going forward the goal is to keep up with technology and self-development learning process as well as partnership with Bellevue University.9. What are the significant successes so far?A) The mind-spring university was created in 6 months and, First Data was honored by Chief Learning Magazine 2013 as one of 2013 learning Elite10. Is there any Impact on the bottom line? A) There is definitely a return on investment, job impact, and project impacts.
