First Focus

I am really excited about the remodeled space in

our education building and I am so thankful that it

is almost done before we begin moving our focus

downstairs in phase two. It is all an answer to

prayer and I look forward to seeing it finished.

Thanks for considering how you can help.

We are getting close to completing our first phase of our remodeling projects of the second floor in our

education building. In fact, we have already begun to use the space upstairs. It looks amazing thanks

to the service of so many of YOU!

I want to share something and ask for your help. The cost of this project at this point has been taken

care of by giving through the previous years. We have been very blessed as a church financially and

we had a reserve of financial resources. The Elders and the Trustees felt it was a better investment to

put our reserve funds toward the remodeling instead of keeping them in investments. Essentially we

used the resources we had to invest in ministries instead of investing for money. As a result we have

completely new carpet, cabinets, lighting, paint, and bathrooms upstairs in our education building.

We are in a place that we need to come to you and ask your help

financially. The Youth and Children are the two ministries that will

primarily use the remodeled space. They are creating a specific list

of items they need to outfit their rooms to facilitate their respective

ministries. We will publicize those lists soon as well as an estimated

cost. We are asking you to consider giving financial contributions for

those specific items. For example, would you be willing to buy one

or two couches at such and such cost? Would you be willing to

purchase some tables? Effect lights for the children? A computer?

We will take care of the purchasing. We are asking your help to

provide the financial resource to meet the needs.

We already have a generous gift that will be used

to purchase TV’s and Video equipment for each

room but there is much more and we could use

your help in completing the final aspect of the

transformation upstairs. We will publicize the list

and how to contribute very soon.

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Project

What goes into the box is fun…. what comes out is eternal!

It is that time of year to pack a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child. This is a

branch of Samaritan’s Purse, whose CEO is Franklin Graham. OCC is a ministry

to children around the world. Every shoebox represents a gospel opportunity. It

is estimated that for every shoebox, ten people hear the gospel. There is also a

twelve week discipleship program for those children who want to attend. There is a table in the entry of

the church with all the information needed to pack your boxes. Please read the pamphlet carefully as

there are items that should not be sent. With each box you send, please enclose $7 in cash or check to

cover transportation costs. We will be available at the table to answer questions.

Remember to pray for your boxes as well as the children who will receive them. The

boxes are due back here at the church on or before Sunday, Nov. 15th. There will

also be mission trip to the processing center in Denver. If you are interested, see

Paul or Kathy Grosshuesch for details. 258-1053 [email protected]

Discover the Destination of Your Shoebox Gift

Donate an additional $7 online and receive a tracking label. Attach the label to your shoebox, and

they will track it and send an email about the country where your box will be delivered with the

message of Christ’s love. http://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child

I am sure that most of you are aware that the construc-

tion of the youth and children areas is close to being

complete. I am so excited for our area to be finished. I

have been dreaming of what this area could look like for

a while now, and as it gets closer my excitement level

rises. I have been working with the team to develop a “Dream List,” so

to say, of how the area could possibly look. I am dreaming about a place

where it is warm and inviting. It has a bunch of pictures of the youth

together enjoying different events and time together. A place that is cool

and hip. I am so thankful to God for this opportunity and to all of you for

your endless support of our youth. I can’t wait to share this completed

space with you. Beau Gamble - Youth Pastor
