hawks that perched on the roof. The eagles swooped down over
our heads. We even saw a family of owls that loved to hoot.

The Amazing Moon Did you know that the moon changes throughout the month?
This is called the phases of the moon. Each day as the moon orbits
the Earth, we see a different part of the sun’s reflection of light on
it. The first phase is known as the new moon. We do not see the
moon at all because it is in between the Earth and the sun. As it
continues its orbit, it seems to get bigger. This is called a waxing
moon. When we can see half of the moon, it is called a quarter
moon. At the midpoint of the orbit, we see the full moon phase.
Then it seems to begin to disappear and this is known as a waning
moon. Finally it is back where it started as the new moon phase! Using text evidence, answer the following questions. Show proof by highlighting where you found thee answers in the text.

just found my seat in the middle of the crowd when I heard them
announce that I had been chosen to be part of the show. “Wow!”
I shouted as I bounced down the steps to the center ring. A silly
clown shook my hand then shot water out of a spout of a flower.
It hit me right in the eyebrow. Then he put his hat in a large
pouch of his trousers and told me to pull it out. I was astounded
when I pulled out a crown! The crowd cheered. It was an

announced, “We have to fix this dilemma.” The cowboys gathered all
the animals around the sow as she began to wake up. They cowered
down in fear but a brave little mouse pounced right up on her snout and
glowered into her eyes! “This is an outrage and you need to stop or you will be ousted from the farm!” pronounced the mouse. The sow was so
