We have high hopes for marriage, family, children. No one who informs me about her divorce ever dreamed that it would be the outcome of her hopes for marriage. Families play out their painful dramas in front of me during counseling sessions. And why do I keep finding children who suffer from bone-crunching abuse and physical neglect... and worse? CHILDREN'S CHOIR BEGINS! Don't let your child miss a great opportunity to sing, and sing praises to God, especially as we prepare for Christmas! We'll feed the children at 6, and then Worship Our Way is a fun-filled evening with activities and learning new things about God. PARENTS: Please sign up to help us meet Safe Sanctuaries requirements. If each parent will sign to volunteer, we will make certain that you are on a rotating list, so that everyone shares in this important task of keeping our children safe. Please make certain that you have been background checked, and that the results are on file in the office.

FOOD DRIVE FOR MANNA HOUSE The Worship Committee is sponsoring a “Bring It to the Altar Day” food drive for the Manna House on Sunday, November 22. More information to follow so watch your bulletin.

ENDOWMENT FUND UPDATE The Endowment Fund Trustees are looking for new ideas to stimulate giving to the fund. One idea that surfaced recently was to buy a life insurance policy and make the church your beneficiary. Gifts to the Endowment Fund can never be spent, but earnings can be used to fund unprogrammed church needs. Recent uses of earnings help to pay for the new hardwood floors in the Sunday School building and the air conditioner over the breezeway. Gifts to the fund currently total $71,775 and earnings $14,339. Do you have an idea? Call the church office with suggestions.

COLOR ENVELOPE SUNDAY The next Color Envelope Sunday is October 18. All church members are invited to participate in making paved parking and a new social hall a reality through your sacrificial gifts.

ACTS: DOING AND BEING CHURCH Our next Wednesday evening Bible study
