We have been in the powder tanker business for a long ,me and wehave built up a really comprehensive knowledge bank of relatedinforma,on. As a result when customers come to us with a problem,we are nearly always able to provide a helpful solu,on.

As examples of two of the customers who we are helping at themoment, one is having problems with the acous,c enclosures onunder-slung power packs and the other is experiencing rapid hosewear when discharging very abrasive products. In both cases we havebeen able provide realis,c resolu, ons to the problems which are nowbeing implemented. Because we are ac,ve across all types of powdertanker opera,on, we think we will always be able to come up with asolu,on to any tanker related problem, so- give us a try when you nextneed some advice. Please contact Ian on 07976 839733.

NewCrimpingMachine

We are pleased to say that our new crimping machine is now installedand fully opera, onal. The benefits of this machine are really significantin two separate ways.

Firstly, pressure is being applied circumferen, ally around the hose andhence onto the coupling tail and secondly, by using a ferrule, thepressure is also being applied longitudinally so that the pressure isbeing applied along the whole length of the coupling as well. Inaddi,on to the fact that this method gives the greatest level ofcoupling integrity, it also means that there are no gaps possiblebetween hose and coupling which can be filled with product. This is asignificant safety feature which in itself can jus,fy the use of crimping.

Our machine is extremely versa,le and can accommodate bothUnicone and Storz fi.ngs.

Please contact Steve on 07875 340139 or Gareth on 07813 642006 tofind out more.

ProgressWith TankerRepair

Since we last reported, work has con, nued and you can see that therunning gear support frame has been straightened and a newlongitudinal runner and tank make- up piece fi-ed. The most obviousstep is the fitment of a new rear support member. Although this looks afairly simple opera,on, in fact it is an extremely skilled job to fit the newfabricated sec,on to the tank barrel. Another point to remember is thatwhen the tanker was constructed, it was built on a jig to ensure precisealignment and so we have to be just as precise when carrying out therepair. Indeed it is oen more difficult with an accident damage repairas the impact has oen affected the alignment of the whole tanker.

When the repair is completed and repainted, it will be almostimpossible to tell that the tanker was involved in a major impact.Remember, the tanker was loaded and parked with the brakes on whenit was hit and pushed 45 metres before coming to rest.
