FROM THE DIRECTOR OF THE DIVISION OF FISH AND WILDLIFE

There are many reasons why we fish, ranging from enjoying the great outdoors in special places to spending time and making life-long memories with family and friends to experienc-ing the challenge and adventures of fishing.

Part of the challenge and adventure of fishing involves pursuing different species, learning

new methods and experiencing new fishing places. Methods and techniques learned in one type of fishing can often be applied to other types of fishing, making you a better angler.

Our expanded Sport Fishing Tournament includes an Elite Angler Award category featured on page 26, which is designed to encour-age anglers to fish for different species. Achieving the prestigious Elite Angler Award requires trying and succeeding at different fishing methods for a variety of fish species, which will in turn enhance your fishing expertise and experiences.

So, why limit yourself? Get outdoors and go fishing for different species in different places. You will be a better angler, and the experi-ences will inspire and last a lifetime.

The Division of Fish & Wildlife is committed to helping you enjoy fishing through our Sport Fishing Tournament, by managing sustain-able fish populations and by providing quality fishing and boating access facilities, which are just a few ways We Bring You Delawares Great Outdoors through Science and Service.

As an avid Delaware angler for many years, I hope to see you on the water. Tight lines this fishing season
