Founded in 2002 in Denmark out of an appreciation for Scandinavian design and culture, we’ve found a global following among those who share our excitement.
FLEYE Copenhagen’s “Nordic Light”
collection transforms the beautiful
Scandinavian light into new eyewear
shapes and colorways.
With a modern take on the Skagen
paintings, a renowned Danish icon
from the late 19th century, we have
created an eyewear collection that
captures the painters’ fabulous
composition of colors and light.
The Skagen Painters were a group
of Scandinavian artists, who settled
in the village of Skagen to portray
the remarkable light and scenery.
It was especially this unique quality
of light that had drawn them to the
northernmost point of Denmark.
A translucent light that merged the
sea and sky. Anyone who has visited
Skagen will agree that the place truly
is something special, with its natural
sceneries and fascinating light.

Inspired by the iconic Danish Skagen
paintings, we have created our own
inspirational artwork by experimenting
with various materials with different
characteristics; solid, transparent,
glossy and liquid, to see how the
surfaces interacted with each other
and with light.

These stunning abstract artworks,
captured by still life photographer,
Ida Emilie Risager, led to the new
designs for the “Nordic Light”
collection. Design concepts such as
transparency, depth and structure have
been applied to create the collection.
Each frame becomes its own artistic
expression when textures are
combined, colors are chosen,
and reflections are created.

Our Nordic Light collection is
handcrafted from sleek beta-titanium.
Beta-titanium is characterized by its
superb lightness, outstanding flexibility
and hypoallergenic qualities, and
provides a timeless and minimalistic
aesthetic, which we have shaped into
refined eyewear styles.
A distinctive characteristic of our
beta-titanium frames is the color
treatment of the precious material.
With innovative craft techniques, we
color our beta-titanium frames with
ION plating and a special PVD coating
that creates color through simple light
refractions. This technique ensures
durable and scratch-resistant colors.
The design of each beta-titanium
frame is then accentuated with a
range of different finishes such as
a silk matte, sandblasted or highly
polished surface.
Albert is an extremely sleek and classic optical frame with a contemporary touch.
Amalie is an ultra-chic and feminine optical frame with a minimalistic feel.
Anker is a classic, masculine optical frame with an urban yet refined look, handcrafted in sleek beta-titanium.
Holger captures a classic cool and masculine vibe, seen in square shaped lenses with a slightly curved bridge.
Ane is elegantly shaped with a slender curved nose-bridge, adding a feminine touch to the frame.
Henrik, a minimalistic and rectangular style for men with rounded edges.
