The FLIR Tools Mobile app can connect to FLIR Wi-Fi enabled cameras. The following
models are compatible:
• Exx-Series
• T6xx-Series
• T420/T440
• Txxx/Bxxx-Series (requires Wi-Fi adapter)
• P6xx-Series (requires Wi-Fi adapter)
• GF3xx-Series (requires Wi-Fi adapter)
A firmware update may be needed to enable Wi-Fi on legacy camera models. Pleasecontact your local FLIR Service Center for details.
Detailed instructions about enabling and configuring Wi-Fi can be found in your operator’s
manual. PDF manuals be found on our Support Center website: http://support.flir.com.

To configure the T6xx, T420, T440, or Exx camera:
1. Press the Menu button.2. Select Mode, then select Settings.
3. Select the Connectivity tab, then Wi-Fi.
4. Select “Connect to WLAN”.

To configure the Txxx, Bxxx:
1. Press the Setup button.2. Select the Connect tab, then Wi-Fi.
3. Select “Connect to WLAN” to connect to a wireless network.
NOTE: A USB Wi-Fi dongle must be plugged into the camera to enable the Wi-Fi menu.

The camera can connect to the Android device through a Wi-Fi network. If your data plan
supports it you can configure the device as a “Wi-Fi Hot Spot” and connect to its Wi-Fi
network. A peer-to-peer connection is not possible with Android.
To configure the Android device:
1. Open the Settings screen.
2. Select Wi-Fi.
3. Select the Wi-Fi network you wish to connect to.

When you start the App you will notice four tabs across the top:
The Archive tab shows image folders for imported and saved images.
The Cameras tab allows you to connect to a camera via Wi-Fi.
The Settings tab contains important settings for units, video quality, and you can connect to
file sharing services.
The Help tab contains the Help file and has a link to the Support Center website
(http://support.flir.com).

In the Settings screen you can:
•Set the video quality and size for MPEG video recordings.
• Set the image storage location for recordings. You can record images and videos to:
• The Camera’s SD card only.
• The Device only.
• The Camera and Device.
• Set temperature and distance units.
• Choose whether to display hot and cold markers for measurement areas and lines.
• Configure report settings for the PDF report. You can add a custom logo and type text
for the report header and footer.
In the Manage Files section you can connect to file sharing sites like Dropbox and Box.net.
This allows you to quickly and easily share images and reports with others, and you can
import images from a shared folder.

The Report Settings screen has some space set aside for Header and Footer text. If you tap
on the field a keyboard will appear so you can begin typing some text.
If you tap the checkbox for Use Custom Logo, you can tap the picture below the checkbox
to select a logo from your Photos gallery.
Note: The photo used for the logo cannot exceed 1024 pixels wide or high.

The Cameras tab shows all Wi-Fi cameras that are connected to the network.
If you tap the Live button for a camera shown on the Cameras tab, a real-time image will
appear in FLIR Tools. With the T-Series, P6xx-Series, and GF-Series you have a live
radiometric image, allowing you to measure temperatures, remotely focus, change camera
modes, and record IR JPEGs and MPEG movies. The E-Series will show a live image, but
remote control and image storage are not possible. The live image shown on the mobile
device is identical to what you see on the camera’s LCD screen.

If you tap the Settings button a panel will appear with several camera settings. The top
section contains object parameter settings. You can tap in any of the boxes to type a new
value for emissivity, reflected temperature, etc. You can also pick from a list of common
emissivity values.

The Mode menu allows you to choose between five image modes; Thermal image, Visual
image, Thermal Fusion, Picture-in-Picture, and MSX.
The Range menu allows you to change the camera’s measurement range.
The Digital camera lamp option allows you turn on/off the lamp for the visual image. This
can help to illuminate the scene for the visual camera.
When Save photo is turned on the camera will save a matching visual photo with each
infrared image.

Towards the bottom of the Settings panel you can find information about the camera, such
as the model name, serial number, lens type, etc.

If you tap the Focus button another panel will appear. You can tap the center button to
automatically focus the camera. Or, you can use the arrow buttons to manually focus.
If you tap the Auto button the image will change between automatic and manual scale
adjustment. When the green light is on it will automatically adjust the scale.
If you tap the Palette button a menu will appear allowing to you select from a variety of
color palettes.

Level and Span adjustment can be accomplished by using standard “Swipe” and “Pinch”
motions.
To adjust the Level: Swipe up or down on the color scale.
To adjust the Span: Pinch your fingers together on the color scale to narrow the span.
Spread your fingers apart on the color scale to widen the span.
To Lock the scale: Tap on the top or bottom number on the scale to lock the minimum or
maximum temperature.
To Invert the palette: Press and hold on the color scale to invert the palette.

Live temperature measurements can be taken using the Measurement Toolbar below the
image. Spots, Areas, and Lines can be placed on the image by pressing the desired button.
Measurement results are shown in the upper-left part of the screen.
Tools on the image can be moved by pressing and dragging on the tool. Areas can be re-
sized by pressing and dragging a corner.
If you press and hold on a tool, a menu will appear where you can delete a tool. Areas and
Lines have other options to show markers, etc.

To record movies, tap the Record button. To store JPEGs, tap the Snapshot button. This
may also store a matching photo (see Camera Settings).
The recordings can be saved to the device, the camera, or both (see the Settings tab).
Images and movies recorded to the device will appear in the Snapshots group in the
Archive. To view the recorded images:
1. Tap the Archives tab at the top of the window.
2. Tap the Snapshots folder to view the contents.
Note that MPEG movies are non-radiometric and cannot be post-processed using FLIR
software.

Images can be imported from the camera’s SD card to the device.
If you tap a camera’s Import button a window will appear containing several groups. The
groups are based on the image date, so you can import images taken in the last hour, day,
week, etc. Or, you can import all the images.
When images are imported they will be placed in a new folder in the Archive.

To import from other sources, tap the Archive tab and the Import button in the lower-
right. If you configure account settings for Dropbox, Box.net and FTP, the options to import
from these sources will appear on the screen. See Settings tab for configuration options.
You can also import some Sample images, so you can become familiar with the features of
the app.

Saved and imported images can be viewed from the Archive tab. If you tap on a folder a
series of thumbnails will appear. You can swipe down to show more images. If you tap on
any of the thumbnails a full-screen image will appear.

When viewing the full-screen image, you can Swipe left or right to switch to the next image
in the folder.
If you tap the File Info icon in the lower-right part of the window you can view image
details and adjust Emissivity and other Object Parameters.

The Information window shows details about the camera model, lens type and other
important details about the file.
The Image Data section shows the Object Parameters used when the image was stored in
the camera. If you tap on one of the fields you can type a different value and it will adjust
the temperatures accordingly.
Tap the back button to close the information window.

When you are ready to analyze an image, tap the Edit button.

When you are in the archive view, several buttons appear in the lower-right part of the
screen:
1. If you tap Report you can select images to be included in a PDF report.
2. If you tap Share you can e-mail images and upload to file sharing website like Dropbox
and Box.net.
3. If you tap Delete you can delete the selected images from the device.
4. If you tap Show on Map you can view the image location on a map based on GPS
coordinates.

If you tap Report, you can then tap to select each image you would like to include in the

A preview of the report will appear with a page for each selected image. You can use the
Prev. Page/Next Page arrows to navigate through the report. The Layout button will
change the image and table orientation on the page.
If you tap Save a window will appear allowing you to type a name for the PDF report and
save it to the image archive folder.

If you tap Share, you can then tap to select each image you would like to e-mail or upload:
1. If you tap e-mail your e-mail client will open with the selected files attached.2. If you tap Dropbox or Box.net the files will be uploaded to the respective sites.
3. If you select FTP the files will be uploaded to an FTP site.
Note that file sharing and FTP settings must be configured beforehand on the Settings tab.

If you tap Delete, you can then tap to select each image or PDF you would like to delete
from the archive. Once selected tap Delete in the lower-right corner of the screen to
delete the files.
If you are in the folder view you can use the same process to delete an entire folder.

If you tap Show on Map, a Google map will appear showing the location of all images in
your archive that have embedded GPS data. If you tap on the icon a thumbnail image will
appear.
If you tap Map Mode it will change from the standard map view to a satellite view.
