Aim: To identify a variety of different flood defence schemes.
To use GIS to evaluate flood defence schemes.

Flood defence schemes are judged by various criteria:
• Likely benefits (lives saved, damage spared)
• Total cost
• Environmental impact
• Degree of local support etc.
You are a project analyst for a flood response organisation.
Your job is to evaluate the suitability of 6 proposed flood defence schemes.
You will judge each scheme using the following criteria:
Likely benefits
Total costs
Environmental impacts
Local support.
Your ultimate aim is to get the highest score possible by choosing the best combination of schemes.
