FlootechFlooBed ® MBBR BioreactorThe Solution for Efficient Wastewater Treatment

MBBR = Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor(SCBP = Suspended Carrier Biofilm Process)

A FlooBed carrier is easy to operate because it is verytolerant to peaks of organic load and variations in flowrate.

In fixed-film reactors, clogging caused by excess sludgecan be a problem. The FlooBed system minimizes thisby creating turbulence that churns the water throughthe carriers, thus no backwashing is needed.

Bottom aeration is used for mixing and aeration.

Smaller carrier with strong structure

Features: High surface area, open structure andconical shape: Conical shape increases the rotation ofcarriers during mixing improving biofilm flushing andmass transfer. Outer supporting walls protect thebiofilm growing inside and at the same time largergaps in the circumference maximize the mass transferto and from the biofilm and prevent the excess”clogging” growth of biofilm.

Process of oxygenation and mixing is performed by bottom aerationsystem.

Chemicals are usually needed to aid flocculation and increase solids removal efficiency. Bubbles are formed in pressure drop when dispersion is released. Particles attach to bubbles and rise to the surface.
