Benefits include:

What with dinosaurs, Octonauts, jealous Kings, talking foxes, ghosts, and disappearing women, February has been pretty eventful too!

Before our new season starts in May we have the welcome return of the Russian Ice Stars with Beauty and The Beast On Ice, the Wirral première of Twopence To Cross The Mersey - The Stage Play, Marc Almond’s new UK tour and An Intimate Evening with Russell Watson.

New season highlights bring: the UK tour of West End hit comedy about five very different women in a pole dancing class in THE NAKED TRUTH; the welcome return of WE’VE ONLY JUST BEGUN: The Karen Carpenter Story; and the BBC Last Choir Standing winners ONLY MEN ALOUD.

In June ASTRAL COAST music festival returns with more new local talent alongside established headliners. Other music includes concerts by JUSTIN HAYWARD, RAY QUINN and JACK JONES as well as Karl Lornie’s A BEATLES CELEBRATION.

In June HORRIBLE HISTORIES bring us two new shows GROOVY GREEKS and INCREDIBLE INVADERS in their own imitable style. More great children’s shows include the anarchic MINISTRY OF SCIENCE and The Chuckle Brothers in THE CHUCKLES OF OZ.

There is so much more we want to highlight but why not have a look at our new brochure and plan a summer of great nights (and days) out here in New Brighton.

Following a Christmas of Snow White, our best-selling panto yet, we went

straight into a busy January with sell-out shows Faulty Towers: The Dining Experience “Yes, Dear”; In conversation with Michael Portillo, who arrived

in New Brighton by, you’ve guessed it…train; and no room to swing, well,

a human, at a packed family night for All Star Wrestling.

UKTOUR

Tailor-made for Women, The Naked Truth is the hit comedy play from Dave Simpson, the writer of the smash-hit comedy Girls Night Out and starring Vicky Entwistle (Coronation Street) and Gemma Bissix (Eastenders).

Now on its 6th fantastic tour, this show has had people on their feet all over the UK. Set in a pole dancing class (the latest get-fit craze) The Naked Truth is a brilliantly funny comedy about sisterhood.

It’s a women thing, as five very different women struggle hilariously to conquer pole dancing for an event to raise awareness and money for a breast cancer charity.

The Naked Truth is a poignant and uplifting comedy, a call to all women, and celebrating strength through adversity.

It’s a show for women, about women, that men absolutely must see (if they dare!).

If you were touched by Calendar Girls and amused by the manoeuvres of Stepping Out you’ll be splitting your sides and moved to tears by The Naked Truth.

Sisters are doing it for themselves!

Middle Ground Theatre Company is delighted to present Richard Harris’ acclaimed psychological thriller The Business of Murder, which enjoyed a successful 9-year run in the West End.

Stone, a humourless and dour man, invites Dee, a television playwright, over to his flat on the premise of discussing a script. Once there, she is surprised when superintendent Hallett, the man with whom she is having an affair, also arrives for an entirely different reason.

But nothing is as it seems, and as the plot twists and turns the motive of their host Stone gradually becomes clear. They are all, it would seem, in the same business... The Business of Murder.

Boring, vanilla, Horlick’s swiller William Shight’s most interesting trait has always been his snigger inducing name. Up until now that is. Since landing his dream job at one of the country’s top advertising agencies, Christina Black, the company director, has taken a shine to William and attempts to seduce him with an indecent proposal. This hilarious new comedy has a whip cracking script that promises to leave you wincing and laughing in all the right places.

The magical musical stage adaptation of Room On The Broom flies into The Floral Pavilion.

The witch and her cat are flying happily along on their broomstick when a stormy wind blows the witch’s hat, bow and wand away into the night. A helpful dog, bird and frog find the witch’s lost things and all hop on the broom for a ride. But this broomstick’s not meant for five and - CRACK! - it snaps in two! When a hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch? And will there ever be room on the broom for everyone?

Songs, laughs and scary fun for children aged 3 and up (and their grown-ups).

L EVENTS

This year Cunard returns to its spiritual home in Liverpool, to celebrate its 175th anniversary. Cunard’s three Queens - Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria - will meet on the famous Liverpool waterfront in a spectacular one-off event that will draw tens of thousands of people to the banks of the Mersey. Queen Mary 2 will then return to the cruise terminal on 4th July to recreate the voyage of the first Cunard ship, Britannia, from Liverpool to New York.

Between the 24th-26th May all three Cunard ships will call at Liverpool to salute a city that will be forever part of Cunard’s history, culminating in all three Queens meeting on the Mersey for the first time on 25th May.

The Floral Pavilion Panoramic Lounge will be the perfect place to view this remarkable rendezvous and we are organising a number of special events to join in the celebrations over May Bank Holiday weekend.
