PRESIDENTS MESSAGE The Florham Park Senior Citizens Club is moving cautiously forward with planning events and activities for our members this Fall. We all welcomed the news that the COVID-19 virus was being brought under control with the new vaccines. Unfortunately, a new variant has emerged. This has resulted in pre- cautions such as requiring a mask to be worn inside the Senior Center and all other Borough buildings and offices. Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Community Center. The exhilarating Flavin will kick off our Fall program. You wont want to miss his exciting mentalist and mind-reading show! Our Club meeting on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, will feature entertain- ment by a talented cellist, Randy Calistri-Yeh. And, on October 27, 2021, we will enjoy a touch of Octoberfestwith Eric Kerssen playing his accordion. Our annual picnic on September 22, 2021 will be held under the pavilion at the Community Center. If the weather doesnt cooperate, the picnic will be in- side. All Florham Park Seniors are welcome to attend. Please feel free to invite a Florham Park Senior who is not already a member. A registration form is in- cluded in the newsletter and is also available at the Senior Center. The Senior exercise program and Qi Gong are scheduled to start in September. In addition, the ever popular Bingo and the Friday movies are also set to begin. Registration forms with dates are in the newsletter. The Nominating Committee will present their slate of officer candidates for the 2021 - 2023 term at the September 8, 2021 meeting. Nominations from the membership for the four officer positions will also be accepted, and the elec- tion of the officers will take place at the October 13, 2021 meeting. Welcome to our new members: Marcia Burgstahler, and Marie and Tommy Rackley. With the re-opening of the Florham Park Senior Center, our friendly Site Man- ager, Diane Guido, returns. She reports that the Center will be closed on Mon- day, September 6, 2021 and Monday, October 11, 2021. I wish to thank Nancy Sigler, Barbara Nevius and Jo Passalaqua for their time and contributions to the Clubs activities and events while serving on the Exec- utive Committee. We value our volunteers and appreciate their efforts. Two volunteers that helped tremendously with the successful Spring Luncheon were Chairperson, Lynne Kelly and Olga Petrilak. Thanks so much! We had 75 members attend the luncheon, and pictures from the event are sprinkled throughout this newsletter. See you soon! Paul SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER 2021
