Q. When did your love affair with scrapbooking come into being?

A. I started scrapbooking around 2006. I could only scrap 8x8 or my computer would crash and it took forever to open up one paper! I loved it though and new I had to do more of it. So I got a new com-puter and away I went!

Q. What made you decide you wanted to start designing and who gave you your first big break?

A. I started designing simply just to see if I could. I love design in all forms and wanted to try the challenge of using my software to see what I could make!

Q. If you could be one kitchen utensil, what would you be and why?

A. If I could be a kitchen utensil I suppose I would be a wooden spoon :) To me it is the most useful utensil, sturdy, well rounded, many uses and when you get a favorite it is much loved!

Q. What are your least favourite colours?

A. I would say that I don’t have a very good relationship with orange for some reason. Other than that color I pretty much like them all!!

Q. When you go on a snack binge, what treats do you reach for?

A. Ummmm, I don’t like to be predictable but...chocolate!

Q. What elements/scrapbook tools can you not live without?

A. I think if I had to give up the warp tool in photoshop I might faint.

Q. What place do you take in your family? Are you the eldest? The baby? Or somewhere in the middle?

A. I am the oldest child in my family. I have one brother 4 years younger than me.

Q. If you were to win a supermarket trolley dash, which part of the super-market would you head to first?

A. Definitely the butcher counter :)

Q. What are three of your main family dinner dishes?

A. Baked Chicken with a sort of herb crust, Stir fried Steak, lot’s of casse-roles.

Q. What is at the top of your Christ-mas wish list this year?

A. At the top of my wishlist if I had one would be a Cropodile. For some reason I really think I need one :)

Creating a “Tasty” Giftby Emily Nelson

Creating a recipe book can be a fun and worthwhile hybrid project for any occasion; holiday season, wedding shower, or even a graduation present, and it doesn’t have to take a long time. This tutorial, using Photoshop CS3, will provide an overview of thecreation of a simple Christmas recipe book using a 4x6 plastic photo album, digital quick page album and some great scrapbook papers and elements.

1. Open a new document sized according to your recipe book (standard photo books being 4x6).

2. Open your quick page file and select a 4x6 section to complete.

3. Create a text box for the title and a second box for the recipe (I have all my recipes save in word format so that I can cut and paste them in). Or if you would like you can leave it blank for new recipes to be add-ed.

4. Add any additional elements and/or photos desired.

5. Save your recipe card.

6. Repeat steps 1-5 for each recipe (also for front and back covers if needed).

7. Print, cut and compile all recipe cards into your photo book, and enjoy.

These quick, cute, and personal recipe books will allow others to enjoy the recipes that you have loved, or allow them to collect their own to enjoy.

Right: The finished product!
