Floyd Microbiology Summer Fellowship Application

Students applying to the Floyd fund for summer stipend support must supply the following information included in this application form. A letter from the student's mentor should also be submitted (see website instructions for how to write this letter). All student and faculty materials should be uploaded to the Graduate Office dropbox by Feb. 15 each year.

List your publications (including those in submission but NOT those in preparation) using the following format:

Author Last Name, First Name et al. Year. Title. Journal Volume: Pages

Presentations

List conferences and meetings at which you have presented your work using the following format:

Author Last Name, First Name et al. Year. Title. Name of conference. Presentation type (poster or oral).

Description of Current Research

In no more than 500 words, describe your current dissertation research. Indicate the main questions your research will address, important milestones, and the progress you have made toward each milestone. For questions not yet addressed, indicate your planned approaches.

Summer Research Plan and Timeline

In no more than 300 words, list the aims of your research plan for this summer, and indicate how these aims fit into the context of your overall research project. Be as concrete as possible in describing the summer plan, and include a timeline for completion of these immediate goals.

Progress report from previous funding

(200 word limit) If you were a previous Floyd recipient, please list your previous goals and describe progress made towards those goals.
