In this task you need to choose someone who has inspired you! It may be a friend, a family member, someone famous, or even someone from the past! Creating your own Classification Key


You are going to create your own sorting key – you can use the template we have given you or draw your own on a piece of paper.

Firstly, choose 8 different Living Things and draw them in the top boxes.

Think about what question you ask to split them into two groups? The questions needs to have a yes or no answer.

(They might not split into 4 and 4, you may need to add a few boxes or cross some out.)

Make sure you use the new vocabulary learning from ‘Animal Vocabulary Help Page’.

Next, think about what question could you ask to split these living things into two more groups?

Keep drawing the items as you move down. Each time you need to look at the items and think; What separates these?

Keep asking questions until you have sorted them all into their own group.

Create your own sorting tree on the template or a piece of paper. You can do this straight onto Seesaw (and save it there) or on paper (then take a photo and upload it).
