GUILLAUME MULLERWhen I was a child, I was curious about everything. I loved to read and spent my time inventing wacky objects. At the age of eight, I built an electric tester with the help of my father. I will always remember the very moment I saw its needle move for the first time. It was a revolutionary product (at least for me)! After having completed scientific studies, I worked in the field of quality control in different firms and ended up in the world of luxury products, especially in watchmaking. I became passionate about watches. I wanted to create my own watches and giving them a DNA deeply rooted in my passions: environmental friendliness and authenticity with a vintage spirit.



THE BRAND

Foehn, pronounced [Fun], is a warm, dry wind generally blowing in autumn and early spring on the northern slopes of the Alps in Switzerland and Austria. in Switzerland and Austria. Nothing can stop the wind, nor the time.

Narrat de momento is a Latin saying meaning "narrating time". The range of Foehn watches is based on single-handed watches, with the idea that the watch should help you enjoying the moment instead of dissecting time.

The FOEHN watches will only be powered by Swiss made mechanical movements ( manual or automatic ).To ensure a long life, the case will be made of 316L stainless steel and the dial will be protected by a sapphire glass.



SINGLE HANDED

Nowadays, single-handed watches are quite uncommon, but they were the only way to display the time until the end of the 16th century. Few brands have perpetuated this and kept this uniqueness, like Meistersinger, Slow Watches, Defakto, Jaquet Droz, Luch, Botta, even Urwerk and soon: FOEHN Watches!



VINTAGE

The vintage design of FOEHN watches is not due to chance, but is the result of my passion for the 60's, whether for comics or TV shows such as The Persuaders or The Avengers. ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

A watch that would only be used to measure the amount of time required for the pollution its manufacture produced to disappear would be a nonsense. At FOEHN Watches, we believe that sustainability goes with respect for the environment. And because it is not just a concept, we committed to select truly environmental friendly parts for each element of the watch as well as for its packaging.

The different providers are exclusively located in Europe to limit the impact of transportation on the watches' carbon footprint. The watches will be produced in Switzerland, in the heart of the Jura watch valley. The straps will be produced in France (in the Doubs area ) or in Germany depending on the version.

The watches are designed to be easily maintained and repaired.

Raw materials are selected to have the lowest impact possible on environment (no petrochemicals). For example,the watch comes in a travel case made of natural materials only and the cardboard box closes without glue or adhesive.

The watches will be sent with the "Pro Clima" option provided by the Swiss Post to balance the CO2 emission caused by the transport.



ETHICS

Because selling a "Swiss Made" watch with parts coming from anywhere but Switzerland would be deceiving my future customers, and because FOEHN Watches believes deeply in traceability and environmental friendliness, our production will bear the TTO Label: Total Transparency on the Origin of the components (www.label- tto.org).

On the brand's website, everyone can easily have a look on the origin of each part and even check the name of the company's bank, namely Banque Alternative Suisse (www.bas.ch/en/).In short, you'll know exactly what you are buying!

LEATHER

Because Nato straps or rubber made straps doesn’t meet our criteria about environment, we choose to give our watches only leather straps.The straps are made of very soft, vegetable tanned cowhide leather, Made in Germany : it’s one of the most environmentally friendly leathers worldwide! Unsealed surface without chemical impregnations guarantee an outstanding breathability.

Special advantages: Skin-compatibility, natural marks maintaining authentic character, and suitability for allergy sufferers.

Quality safeguards confirm that FOEHN Watches leather holds the highest standards regarding a responsible production process.Our leather got certified by- the European Centre for Allergy Research Fundation- the International Association Natural Textile Industry- Biokreis, the German Association for ecological farming: 800 agricultural companies, 80 producers and 200 consumers for an ongoing development of ecological and sustainable subsistence strategies.

The leather is 100% free from any synthetic dyestuff and free from any heavy metals.

ACCESSORIESEach watch will be sold with it’s travel pouch made off Merino organic wool felt from Germany & Italian vegetable tanned leather.The pouch will be handcrafted in South of Poland. Our cases are proudly handcrafted in a small family-run red brick factory. The cut and the stitching are hand-made by six passionate artisans that are committed to creating an excellent product.The case of the watch can also be used as case for your phone.

Another product made by FOEHN is an organic fragrance. ( still in development)The first FOEHN Cologne will be an unisex cologne, free from any conservative or chemical product.This perfume will be made in South of France with the purest natural essentials oils.The scent is a fresh and intricate combination of Rhubarb, Yuzu, Basil, Tonka.



UPCOMING DEVELOPMENTS

• A watch fully in carbon from recycled parts of Airbus planes in partnership with a Swiss company that has developed a new patented manufacturing method

• A collection designed from the most iconic muscles cars from the 60’s



BUSINESS

All the watches will be pre-sold via a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to enable a selfsupporting production of the watches, if the campaign is successful. It will also offer attractive discounts to the first customers. For 3 years, Kickstarter is the most interesting and successful way of financing projects for the small watchmaking brands. Later on, the watches will exclusively be available for sale on the FOEHN Watches website to ensure that they will be sold at a fair price.

The first year sales targets are 300 watches per year to ensure a successful start of the company. This will also ensure the production to meet the highest quality standards.

Ultimately, the goal is to reach a production volume of 1,000 watches per year to ensure the exclusivity of the brand and not create unsold stock.

There will also be an opportunity to create limited co-branded series, or editions made exclusively for certain clients thanks to the flexibility of the production lines.
