We are delighted to again be at South Street, where we have held so many great events over the years. The Seaport is still struggling back after Hurricane Sandy, and we are glad to be helping. There will be two exquisite performers from Brittany: Yuna Léon, is a young fiddler of note who plays in dance bands and prestigious line-ups. She leads regular Irish sessions in Rennes and near Lorient. She is equally at ease with both Breton and Irish traditions.Brigitte Kloareg is a multilingual peddler of songs around the Celtic world and be-yond. Brought up in Brittany, she then spent 20 years in Wales, travelling extensively through the British Isles listening to traditional singers. She is also a storyteller and sets contemporary poetry to music.A voluntary donation will be collected for the performers. Co-sponsored with and at the South Street Seaport, 12 Fulton Street, Manhattan. Info: 212-957-8386.

Folk Open Sing: Wednesdays, June 3rd & July 1st; 7-10pmJoin us on the first Wednesday of each month for an open sing. Bring your voice, instruments, friends, neighbors, and children. Drop by for a couple of songs or the whole evening. At the Ethical Culture Society, 53 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn (near 2nd St.). Directions: F or Q train to 7th Ave.; 2/3 train to Grand Army Plaza. Hosted by Ethical Culture Society, Folk Music Society of NY/NYPFMC, Alison Kelley, and Frank Woerner. Info: Frank, 212-533-2139.

Share the Joy of Dance, Music & Song CDSS Summer Camps 2015

www.cdss.org/campCountry Dance & Song Society

celebrating our Centennial in 2015

We believe in the joy and strength that dance, music and song bring to people, and we see our summer camp programs as a place

for skill building, learning and sharing, and having fun. The feeling of community and laughter and learning, so evident at a camp week, whether it's Pinewoods, Ogontz or Timber Ridge, and whether your passion is contras and squares, English country dance, singing songs up into the sky, making the room rock with your music, or hanging

with friends—that feeling will go home with you. The skills learned and connections made at camp can last a lifetime and enrich lives.

Adults love it, kids thrive on it. This we know.

If you've been to our camps before, you know what we're talking about. If this will be your first year, you'll go home thinking, "They were right!"

Join us this summer. Connect with others who love what you love. Learn from them. And take that enjoyment with you to share.

Connect ◆ Learn ◆ Enjoy

Sing ◆ Dance ◆ Play

Fair Trade Music 1000The FMSNY executive board has agreed to the American Federa-tion of Musicians Local 1000 Fair Trade Music principles for our concert program. In essence it means that our club agrees to pay at least union scale to the performers in those concerts, including house concerts, for which we are the primary sponsor. Our agreement does not cover non-concert events such as sing-arounds and weekends, nor does it cover concerts featuring our own club members and concerts where we are a cosponsor but from which we receive no income. For more information please visit: www.fairtrademusic1000.wordpress.com.
