Folk Songs of Ukraine Digital Music Archive Project

Marichka Marczyk will speak about

her digital music archive project

"Folk Songs of Ukraine" - a first of

its kind online encyclopedia of

priceless audio recordings collected

by folklorists in Ukrainian villages.

Marichka Marczyk is an ethnomusicologist and

singer with the Ukrain ian Canadian musical

groups Balak lava Blues and Lemon Bucket

Orkestra. She co-founded and sang in the

“Bozychi” fo lk ensemble, and completed a

degree in Ethnomusicology from the Nat ional

Academy of Music in Ukraine.
