Folly Cokers snapshots of life Folly Coker was born in Katsina, Nigeria on 19th August, 1966 in a deeply religious catholic family. He lost his mother Maria at the time of his birth. His father James Coker has been his constant support and never remarried. He is a pass out from the University of Uyo with a major in psychology and masters in applied positive psychology.

Having been brought up in a catholic set up, he works for the welfare of Catholics of Katsina. Like his dead mother who wanted to build an NGO for the welfare of the weaker sections, he is a social worker at Catholic Caritas Foundation in Nigeria which is a Catholic charity. Having a background in psychology, he is also associated with an NGO named Action Health Incorporated (AHI) which helps in adolescent health and development.

He has been actively involved in the politics of the state with his allegiance to Progressive Alliance for Good Governance. He has been writing political pamphlets supporting their causes and has been a popular supporter.

Folly Coker, with his interests in Jazz music, is also a banjo player and a percussionist. He is associated with the Jazz band The Catholics of the City.
