Consequences▪ If rules are broken, the student will be asked to move his/her clip

on the behavior chart. The students begin the day on green and

will clip up or down the color chart.

Purple – Awesome Day!

Blue – Great Day!

Green – Ready to Learn

Yellow – Warning

Orange - I Could have done better.

Red – I will try harder

PLEASE REVIEW THIS CLASSROOM PLAN WITH YOUR CHILD. IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO MAKE IT A DAILY HABIT TO CHECK THEIR FOLDER; FOLLOW UP WITH TALKS AND ENCOURAGEMENT ABOUT THEIR BEHAVIOR FOR THE DAY. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO ATTACH YOUR OWN REWARDS/CONSEQUENCES AT HOME FOR THEIR BEHAVIOR AT SCHOOL (THIS COULD JUST BE VERBAL PRAISE AND HUGS). THIS HELPS YOUR CHILD TO UNDERSTAND THAT THEIR PARENT/GUARDIAN AND THEIR TEACHER ARE COMMUNICATING AND WORKING TOGETHER AS A TEAM FOR THEIR BENEFIT, THUS ENCOURAGING THEIR BEST BEHAVIOR IN CLASS.

Take-Home Folders:

Each child will have a take-home folder. Newsletters and important school notes will be sent home in this folder. Encourage your child to become independent by being responsible for packing his/her folder in the book bag every night before going to bed. It is to be signed by the parent/guardian and brought to school daily. All important information regarding school, classroom activities and events will be placed in the folder. Please check it daily!

Parent Involvement:

Due to Covid-19 safety procedures, as of now, parental involvement in Pre-K will primarily take place via take-home projects for you to do with your child. (Outside visitors are not allowed inside of our building at this time.) I will send home seasonal projects for you to complete with your child. I ask that you complete them with your child so that he/she may share them during Show and Tell. Also, I will send a weekly Reading Log home for you to sign and return after you have read with your child. I will also send you weekly classroom announcements and other important info. Please e-mail me or place a note in the student’s folder with any questions/concerns that you may have.

Birthdays:

Birthdays are special times in our classroom with the birthday child being the Star of the Day. If you would like to send individually wrapped store-bought treats, I will be glad to serve them. (The district is not allowing home-made goodies or store-bought cupcakes at this time.) Please send them to school with your child the day of the birthday. The office cannot accept items. We celebrate during our afternoon snack time.
