We want to draw Pinocchio like a fleeing soul. Fleeing from himself, fleeing from his puppet’s life.For this reason he thumb his nose: he refuses the role that has been imposed on him. And he makes mistakes: because he wants to grow and only by trying and wrong can find his identity.The identity he wants is to be a child. A desire that takes shape in the shadow that Pinocchio casts on the wall.The child’s shadow is already as Pinocchio feels in the present:it’s the form of his future or perhaps only a utopia.But anyway he tries. Like all of us.
