Our company, Oxia Mali, is specialized in water and sanitation sectors. In this framework for activities, we have created a water pump ultra-filter new generation called "The fountain of life". It is the result of 3 years of research and a fortnight of prototypes.

Due to its small footprint, its weight (48 kg), its mobility and ease of use this machine has unique features allowing to produce 500 liters of drinking water and 2 000 liters of water of culture per hour from water of a river, a well or even a backwater, without any addition of chemicals.

It is authorized in Belgium by the body giving authorizations for the placing on the market of food products and it has undergone analyses of the national laboratories of analysis in Bamako and Mopti attesting the quality of filtered water.

These capabilities make that a single fountain of life can provide water for a village of 300 to 500 people.

The fountain of life is designed to be used in the most difficult conditions of climate and access. It could meet the needs of many villages that have problems of drinking water and improve considerably the consecutive health problems resulting therefrom, but it is also perfectly suited to the needs of schools and health centers.

We have also developed a complete kit including the fountain of life, a mobile photovoltaic supply 2 Kva and a flexible tank of 3 to 5 m3 depending on the needs, allowing total autonomy of the villages or settlements where kit will be installed.

The Fontain of Life is an independent unit of the fresh surface water purification (Wells, rivers, lakes, backwaters…) It has characteristics of being:

Ø Full mechanical

Ø Without any chemical added

Ø Compact (50 x 60 x 18)

Ø Light weight (40 kg out of water)

Ø Mobile

Ø Extremely easy to use (the operating instructions are engraved on the machine)

Ø Very little maintenance thanks to a retro wash system.

Ø Very little of consumables (estimated at €45 / year or 30 000Fcfa)

Ø All materials used are of high quality and guarantee solidity

and durability of the fountain of life in any climate conditions.

The technology used is micro filtration. It allows eliminating treated water all particles bigger than 0.01 micron (10,000 times thinner than a human hair). The biological qualities of the drawn water have no importance because the system Ultra filtration is fit to stop viruses, bacteria, germs, parasites, microorganisms and other suspended solids. This allows to limit, or even to eradicate public health problems related to water-borne diseases. Polysulfone filtration modules are designed to filter surface water and water from boreholes with satisfactory physicochemical qualities. In its basic version (infrared), its capacity is 480 to 600 L/HR of drinking water. It also allows the irrigation of cultures by an output of 2 m³/h unfiltered μ. It is constituted by:

Ø a thermal pump or a photovoltaic pump,

Ø a pre filter 100 Micron associated with a pressure regulator,

Ø a sieve 10 micron filter

Ø a system of polysulfone 0.01 micron microfiltration

Ø It is driven by 4 valves enabling, depending on their position, engage the different production cycles:

o Retro wash o Wash o Rinse o Stop

Ø Thus treated water is potable (drinkable without danger to

health), it nevertheless passes through an activated carbon filter which rids it of possible tastes and odors remaining.

Ø At the exit, it can be compared to the level of appearance and taste, the best mineral waters. It is guaranteed 100% bacteria free!

Compact and easy to install, it is available in 3 versions:

Ø 500 L/h Ø 1000 L/h Ø 1500 L/h

OXIA Mali provides training for operators who will be responsible for the system.

The photovoltaic power

Photovoltaic Oxia Solar power has to be mobile because mounted on a trailer. 3 systems are intended for power can be towed by a car, a bike or a donkey.

Ø It is intended to operate pump water 12v throughout the period of sunshine.

Ø Then, top-mounted batteries can offer it an additional range of 2 hours.

Ø It can be supplied with a supplement of 1.5 to 2 Kva power

generators. The benefits

Ø It is mobile, so very flexible to use. Ø It is totally removable and all the elements, in particular photovoltaic

panels, are protected during travel.

Ø The fountain of life can also be stored in one of the cof suefers of the power for transportation.

Ø It’s able to add a small generator.
