Founded in 1988, Bodegas Valdelacierva is located in the heart of Rioja Alta wine producing region in the picturesquetown of Navarrete, a very important stop on the “Camino de Santiago” of the Rioja Alta. 125 hectares of vineyardspredominantly comprised of the Tempranillo grape variety, which are divided in small plots with vines that are be-tween 25-130 years old from clay, sandy loam soils and clay-calcareous shingly soils. Grape selection process, wine-making and ageing are extremely careful and selective depending on the suitability of each type of wine. Innovationis one of the defining characteristics of this winery, which is constantly updating its technology and the pool of bar-rels. The winery has a young and dynamic character and is inclined towards the elaboration of modern wines, with thequality of the grape as protagonist and basis of the vinification concept, the wines come from selected vineyards ofthe localities of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Briones, Baños de Ebro and Yécora.

Founded in 1972, Viñedos y Bodegas Gormaz is a winery with a long track record in the Ribera del Duero region,where it formed part of the first group of wine producers to receive official certification of Appellation. The philosophyof the winery is based exclusively in the respect to the typicity and personality marked by the “terroir”. The vineyardin which the Tinta Fina (tempranillo) grape variety predominates, is divided in more than 1,000 small states groupedin approximately 70 “parajes” (wine growing areas) located at an altitude between 845 and 960 meters, forming agreat variety of microclimates, orientations and types of soil. It is one of the most antique wine growing areas of thecountry, where the 70% of the vines have an age of more than 80 years. The combination of our know-how, the care-ful cultivation, the harvesting and ageing methodology, our modern production facilities and our highly qualified teamof technicians, enables us to produce highly expressive, unique and marked wines.

Founded in 1989, the Bodegas Garci Grande winery was built on top of old wine cellars which date back to the 14thcentury. The winery is located right in the heart of Spain’s Rueda wine producing region. This region is famous for theexcellence of its white wines and the Verdejo grape varietal known for its expressiveness thanks to the region’s conti-nental climate and the composition of their soils, rich in calcium and magnesium, stony and well aired and drained.

Tudelilla is very well know in the DOCa Rioja as it is considered the "outstanding quality island" of Rioja Baja. Thisconsideration is due to the singular features of the land and the soil in this area, called "La Pedriza de Tudelilla" andsituated 650 meters high. The name in Spanish "Pedriza" means stony ground, very poor soil and airy.

Carmelo Ortega is nowadays the winemaker and owner of the winery. He has followed the trajectory began in 1896by his great-grandfather, D. Quintín Ortega. At present, we have 2 wine makingrooms, fully equipped with controlled temperature stainless steal vats with a total capacity of 3 million litres. We em-ploy the two main fermentation procedures for red wines: “carbonic maceration” and “de-stemmed grape macera-tion”, so that we can produce high quality young wines as well as oak aged crianzas reserves and gran reserves. Wealso produce rosé and white wines made under controlled fermentation temperature.

In 1955, the Virto family began its journey in the world of canned vegetables in a small warehouse where they were atthe time working as distributors of these preserves.

They eventually gained experience in this industry and after 20 years in 1975, Basilio Virto decided to make their owncanned vegetables.

He then founded Conservas Virto, specializing in products such as artichokes, green beans and peaches, ensuringthat the products offered met the quality and natural flavor requested by their customers.

At the start of the 1990s, a vineyard was purchased in Fuenmayor, a municipality in the Rioja. This was the ideal loca-tion for the construction of the new installations which the winery continues to use to date.

This construction began in 1995. Aiming to maintain traditional features, stones were bought for the construction ofthe winery from abandoned 19th century railway stations.

A 10 meters deep excavation was made in the warehouses to allow the aged and reserve wines to rest and mature.

Construction of the new installations concluded in 2001, the same year as the first HERAS CORDON wine was pro-duced in the new installations – classified by the Regulatory Board as an excellent harvest and a vintage of the centu-ry.

There are fifty hectares on the property for the production of these great wines, plus the acquisition of the harvestfrom a further sixty hectares from local farmers who are assessed to ensure excellent grapes are obtained. All thevineyards are in two sub-areas of great prestige and high quality: Rioja Alta (Cenicero, Fuenmayor and Navarrete),and Rioja Alavesa (Laguardia, Elciego and Lapuebla de Labarca).

Later, in 2004, the “HERAS CORDON BOTTLER’S CLUB” was started: 142 customers receive their bottles in accordancewith an annual consumption agreement, wherein they are allowed to use the installations and personalise their bot-tles.

At the end of 2005, a private restaurant (capacity: 50 people) and a function room (capacity: 30 people) were openedfor the exclusive use of the winery and members of the bottler’s club.

The near future will see the opening of a warehouse to house the end product, a shop to sell wines and a small hotelwith 8 rooms for customers and friends.
