CC Manifesto: Aidan Horan

Hi folks, my name is Aidan Horan, I am a Referee at Bath branch Fools and Heroes.

I have been playing FnH for 11 years, give or take. I have been acting as a branch ref for around seven years now, I

have pitched in with a fair few Summerfests during this time, and helped run elements of National plot for prior

CCs. Alot of you may know me as my character, Thek, bumbling about as a Longstorian Priest. During my time

here I have seen the rich variety of players and characters that Fools and Heroes has to offer and have seen some

truly inspiring things.

My degree course was partly in creative studies and I have often called upon these skills to experiment with my

story telling as a referee; constantly finding new ways to disseminate plot and engage the player base. I have

recently started a more stable job in my professional life and as such I have a very clear time table going forward.

This means I will be able to dedicate solid amounts of my time to the position.

Responses: As CC I will be setting aside regular evenings during my weekly time-table - as well as most

Saturdays, in order to make sure my duties are fulfilled. Plot queries will be sent out in as quick a time frame as

possible, with a maximum time of two weeks for responses, but in general things should turn around a lot faster. I

am also keen on making sure that feedback from events on a local level are worked into national plot to give player

actions real impact on the greater national campaign.

Communication: To compliment the LO pack system that will still be used, I will be looking to create an

additional board, separate to the ref's boards, where the LO packs will be put. This will allow easy access via

internet browsers for the plot team. This will also be a forum for the ref's and LO's to feed back how their elements

of national plot are progressing, and will allow a greater deal of fluidity and agility in plot progression.

National Events: I will be looking to work with event organizers during my campaign to make sure national

specials and major plot elements are evenly spread across the country. Also working to make sure that, should they

desire, fest organizers will have all the tools they need to make sure national plot can be accurately reflected.

National Campaign: I will make sure that I will be working with LO's and ref's to facilitate the strong flavour and

individuality of national plot on a branch level. This is in order to prevent the antagonists from seeming two-

dimensional or lacklustre. My aim is to keep the campaign flowing smoothly, and easily accessible by the player

base as a whole, with clear goals and objectives to facilitate local events to influence the wider campaign. It is very

likely I will be using the momentum that Ithron has built against Tholon and the Khonn, to spur on the great war

between the Empire and the Khonn, with further implications to those aligned to Sharda or Elysium… but that is

the most I will say about the details for now.

Administrative: Further to my comments on Response and Communication I will be making sure that the LO's are

kept up to date with special characters, play tests and the like on a regular basis, ensuring to keep things as plain

and simple as possible.

To summarise; I will be looking to make sure that the running of the national plot is as smooth as possible by

trying to improve on existing communication methods. I will also try to make sure the plot is strong and vibrant,

whilst not compromising the accessibility to all classes and experience levels of character.
