For decades I have been living my life on one of ‘God’s Promises,

What is our ‘Lord’ telling us in this Scripture?

When you put ‘God’ first,

His Son, His Kingdom, His Truth, His Righteousness,

‘God’ Promises He Will take care of all your human needs.

I clearly remember In my formative married years when I first read this Scripture. I was spiritually elated! I read it again and again slowly.... until I finally realized ‘God‘ was Speaking to me.

My first reaction was normal, human.

I needed ‘God’s Help to survive economically;

We had three boys in a private Christian school, each with athletic demands, appetites that defied all pantries, medical situations, family needs, and a home we were building ourselves.

At that time my spirit spoke clearly to our ‘Father God’. “Yes, ‘God’ I will put You first in my life, and thank You ‘Holy Father’ for this most wondrous promise to provide all our needs.”

And then, after I spoke these words within my spirit to the ‘Holy Spirit’ a startling thought surfaced in my

mind:

“How am I going to put ‘God‘ first in my

life?‘

God answered my question by reminding me of another one of His Promises

Ask, and it shall be given you;seek, and you shall find;knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

For every one that asketh receiveth;

and he that seeketh findeth;

and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Matthew 7: 8-9

I took my lead from this Scripture and asked God: How do I put you first in my life?

The Lord responded by reminding me of a meditative prayer I recited at times, which emphasized closeness to God coming from :

KnowingLoving and Serving Him

Here was my answer!

Simply put:

How can you love ‘God’ unless ...you know Him?

And the more ...you know ‘God’, the more ...you will love Him

And the more you know ‘God 'the more ...you will serve Him.

How did I put ‘God’ first in my life?

By getting to know Him.

I began studying the Bible, His Word, His Truth, His Will, His-Story every day

and naturally, what followed was, knowing ‘God’,loving ‘God’, and serving ‘God’.

and, yes…‘God’ Kept His Promise

All our family needs have been graciously provided to us by our ‘Father God’, then and now.

Our children completed their Christian education, and are professionally employed today.

And yes, after seven years of labor our home was finished in ‘God’s Time.

Our pantry was expanded and grew to over 120 square feet.

Most importantly our parental spiritual need has been fulfilled by ‘God’, our boys learned the way home to their ‘Father’,

John 146 Jesus saith…I am the way, the truth,and the life:no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

‘Let’s Knock’

Put God first in your life by getting to know Him through the Holy Scriptures, speak with Him in prayer, ask Him your questions… and know, that when you put God first your needs will be take care of.
