FOR HER I DANCE EPISODE II

Location: RENTON HANGAR         Poem of Episode II:  So much to do, so little time  For some of us, rest is a crime So much to do, so little power Remember that misery, time will devour But you have no clue, how much there is to do  Stay focused, stay true  There’s so much to do  So much to do, so little help So much to do, all by yourself  So much to say , the clock strikes 12 So much to do, so little luck  Don’t cry and weep, we all are stuck  We suffer all day, to make a skinny buck  Oh how much there is to do How little is left, how little we grew  so much to do, so little time  Forget about them, they flip on a dime  They curse the stem, then sip the wine so much to do, yet nothing is fine  so much to sing, stick to the Rhyme  so much to do, so little time...

Scene 1 - Interior - Day - Airplane Hangar  Eric stands by the wall next to the door in an old dime lit hanger. The hanger is clean and organized, in the middle of the hanger, a white shinny airplane sits perfectly. He stares at the frame on the wall. In the frame there is a painting of a man holding a broom and standing next to a big gum wall. Eric is lost in the painting. In the background, the radio plays the weather news. Eric walks around the airplane and turns on the neon lights. The radio plays music.  (POEM BEGINS)  Eric holds a spray bottle and a fresh yellow rag. He sprays and wipes clean the entire hull of the airplane. He focuses on the front blades where most of the bug casualties occur.  Scene 2 - Exterior - Day - Airplane Hangers Alley  Eric opens the hanger doors wide open. He grabs the airplane by the hull. He pulls the airplane to the little alley in-front of the hanger. He cleans more as he checks his watch. Rae, the young lady responsible for the airplane fuel refills, shows up. Eric shakes Rae’s hand and puts 10$ in his Northwest style red flannel pocket. Rae fills up the plane.  Eric waves goodbye to Rae as he closes the hanger doors.  Scene 3 - Interior - Day - Airplane Hangar  Eric puts everything back in its place. He takes another look at the painting on his wall. Next to the painting is a little sticky note that reads ”lives this week” under it there are 4 straight lines. He grabs the pencil hanging next to the note. He draws a line across the 4 lines to make it 5.   Scene 4 - Exterior - Day - Airplane Hangar Alley  Eric pushes his airplane out of the alley and onto the main takeoff area. He jumps in the plane.   Scene 5- Interior - Day - Airplane  Eric runs the pre-check on his airplane. He gets the okay from the tower, he is ready. He sits in his airplane and looks at the road.  Scene 6 = Exterior - Day - Tarmac  An ambulance drives up the gate. Roy opens the gate for the ambulance. The ambulance parks. Eric starts his propellers. A medic gets out of the passenger side of the ambulance. He holds a white cooler with a red cross on it. He runs to the airplane. The medic enters the airplane and Eric takes off.  Scene 7 - Interior - Day - Airplane  Eric and the Medic are in the airplane. Eric points to his watch and gives the medic a thumbs up in a form of a question. (Meaning are we still on time?) The medic gives Eric an affirmative thumbs up. Eric flies towards the horizon.

FOR HER I DANCE EPISODE III

Location: HEDLUND HOUSE          Poem of Episode III:  It was early morning, I was by myself  When I took my books off their shelf My foster parents let me go  How they feel about me, they still don’t know Under my tears, I hear the taxi’s horn  An Orphan I was born.  I grew up hard, I grew up weak No one to hear me, I didn’t speak  No one to hold me, I didn’t mind  a broom was my friend, my broom was kind.  What is time but a race to survive a journey to destiny, the universe’s life I clean alone when kids are home  And no is on the streets, at night I sweep. Cleaning is my obligation If the streets didn’t shine, love won’t be mine  And candy won’t be sweet, at night I sweep.  My pain will do, while I look out for you  No matter who will take the claim a mark on this tree will remain To the broom children, you’re most loving insane.

Scene 1 - Interior - Night - Bedroom  Eric sits at the his writing desk by the window in his bedroom. The room is dark except for a little lamp that shines above his drawing desk. His wife, Lina, is in bed asleep.  (POEM BEGINS)

He leans over his drawing. He adds little lines to the ambulance on the paper to finish his drawing of a little bonanza airplane leaving the airport. He puts his pencils down. He brings the light closer to his drawing. He stares into it like he is transported there. Eric wakes up from his daydream when he hears a weird noise in the house.  He wakes up his wife quietly. He puts his index finger on his mouth signaling to her to stay quiet. Eric grabs his gun & flashlight from the closet next to the bed. He walks down the stairs in full combat mode, his adrenaline rushes so fast, it reminds him of his time in the service. Eric is ready to engage with the intruder and protect his house.  Scene 2 - Interior - Night - Kitchen  Eric enters the kitchen. His flashlight leads the way for his gun. He points the flashlight and the gun at the fridge. A person turns and faces Eric’s gun. It is a child named Tim. Merely 10 years of age. Tim drops the stolen food in his hands at the sight of the gun. Tim puts his hands in the air. The kitchen floor is now a mess. Tim is shocked. He fights the urge to cry.   Eric realizes it’s a hungry child. He puts his gun away. He turns on the lights. He gives the child a hug. Tim cries. Lina comes down the stairs in her red and white night gown. She sees that the intruder is a child, a dirty one. She takes Tim to get a shower. Tim is scared but along for the ride.  Eric grabs his broom. He sweeps the floor and cleans the mess that the encounter just left. He gets the couch ready for Tim then whips some sunny side ups before the break of dawn.   Scene 3 - Exterior - Day - Park  Eric, Lina & Tim are at the park. Eric & Lina are on a picnic blanket in the sun, next to a tree. Tim plays with his new pet India the Dingo. Eric smiles and carves something into the tree next to him. He looks at Lina, Lina looks back at him and leans in. They kiss. They look into each others eyes and smile. Tim and India run up to the blanket. India snuggles up to Lina. Tim Sits in Eric’s lap as Eric finishes his Carving. The family enjoys the picnic then packs and leaves.  Scene 4 - Exterior - Night - Park The Park is dark and empty. The moon shines on the tree where the family was that morning. Eric’s carving shines bright. The carving reads: “Be Love”

FOR HER I DANCE EPISODE IV

Location: ALLYN CHURCH        Poem of Episode IV:  100 days and keep the count  King of knights, no horse to mount  200 days and keep the count Fairy tales live all around   300, 400, 500 days and keep the count...   we can’t sell the time, we can only buy it Claim that you are weak, no one will deny it Whisper when you speak, people hear the quiet  Trust is always better, better than doubt  600 days and keep the count  There’s a story that we’re missing, It’s a story never told  There’s a nightmare in the bushes And the truth is getting old  I am searching for forgiveness  Even though I never sold any soul to the devil  never ever have I frowned Hundreds of days and keep the count  10,000 days and keep the count One day someday, I’ll be home bound

Scene 1 - Interior - Day - Sacristy  In the dimly lit Sacristy Eric stands against the wall. Eric is in his black Robe. A silver chain connects his robe to a pocket watch he holds in his hand. He stares at the watch. His thumb feels the carvings in the silver of the old watch. A tree stump with the words “Be Love” is carved into the face of the watch. Eric ponders. He presses the tip of the watch with his finger. The watch opens. The time reads 9:50 am.  (POEM BEGINS)

Eric puts his watch back in his pocket. He is very calm. He is very good on time. He walks towards the hangers on the wall. Three white ceremonial robes hang on the wall. Eric takes off his black robe. He hangs the black robe next to the white ones on the wall. He is in his white undergarments. He anoints himself with oil on the wrists, the elbows, the neck and the forehead. He puts on a white robe. He puts on all the robe’s accessories. He checks himself in the mirror. He reaches into his black robe’s pocket again and checks the time. It is 9:55.  He realizes he needs to rush. He sits down on a stool. He puts on his shoes. He ties it in a perfect knot, like his mother is watching.  He stands up again. He looks at the long mirror on the wall. He checks that his outfit is perfect. He licks his right hand fingers. He pushes his hair firmly, from right to left across his forehead. He brushes his beard with his fingers. He puts on the big ceremonial hat. He walks to the left side of the Sacristy where the wine and the bread is kept. He pulls out the golden communion cup & plate. He grabs the sacred loaf of bread and cuts it into pieces. He samples a few pieces of the body of Jesus Christ. He enjoys the bread tremendously. The bread is ready and stacked on the plate. He removes the cork of an already open bottle of red wine. He takes a swig from the bottle. It is clear on his face, the wine is old. He takes another swig. His face gives the same reaction. He fills the golden cup with the bad wine. He puts the cork back on the bottle. He returns the bottle to its place. He turns around to face the robes on the wall. He pulls his watch out of the black robe pocket. He looks at it. The watch reads 9:59. He puts the watch back in the robe. He grabs the golden plate and cup. He exists the Sacristy with a holy smile.  Scene 2 - Interior - Day - Church  Eric walks out of the small Sacristy door. He is behind the altar. He walks towards the center of the alter with his head down in respect to the blood and body of Jesus Christ. He puts the plate and the cup on the altar. He lifts his head up with a big smile. His smile fades away right away. He looks around. He sees that the church is absolutely empty. He looks at the clock on the wall. The time reads 10:02. He walks down from the alter. He sits on the stairs between the altar and the first wooden bench. His back is to the altar. His face is to the church door. He waits. He looks down, he sees a little ant on the floor in-front him, he picks it up. The ant walks on his hand. He stares at it. He stares at the detail and precision that created it. He is just mesmerized. From the stairs of the altar he looks up at the clock. The time reads 10:23. Eric looks around. The church is still empty. He holds the ant in his hand as he stares at the church door. No one walks through. He looks at the ant. He stands up and walks back to the altar.  Scene 3 - Exterior - Day - Church Grounds  Eric is back in his black robe. He walks away from the church towards the parking lot. He has the golden plate of bread in his hand. He gets to the smoking bench. He puts the plate on the bench. The ant is in the plate eating the bread. Eric pulls out a cigarette from his robe’s pocket. He lights it up. He sits on the bench and he smokes his cigarette. He watches the crowded city bustle with life. No one on the way to church though. He puts the cigarette out on the ground. He grabs the plate to take it back inside. The plate is full of ants. They are all gathered around the bread, eating. Eric lifts the plate close to his face. He looks at it with joy. He puts it back on the bench. He walks away.

Scene 1 - Exterior - Day - Cabin

In a big green field, a small wood cabin stands still. The sound of the music of jazz mills fills the air.

Eric, now

old and gray, is inside. He works on a detailed project.

Outside the cabin, a blue bike is parked. Next to the bicycle, on the outside wall of the cabin, a big

map is mounted.

A young girl, Lynne, is at the map. Lynne manages the map.

The map is big. It is full with pins, pictures and red string. All the red strings originate from one

point in the map. At the landing point of every string is a picture of a moment from one of Eric’s

lives. The map also includes the

moments we have already lived; pike place, the hangar, the

picnic park and the church.

Lynne is organized and precise. She runs the red strings across the map with complete

confidence. She is very experienced at this. The ”one point perspective” red lines she stretches

across the map create an intricate pyramid shape. Lynne kneels down to grab another picture and

more red string. Old Eric opens the cabin window closest to the map.

(POEM BEGINS)

He puts his pipe in his mouth. He looks at Lynne hard at work. Lynne pays him no attention. He

lights his pipe. He puffs on it. He blows out blue sparkling smoke. Still unnoticed by Lynne, He

closes the window and walks back into his work table.

Scene 2 - Interior - Day - Cabin

Eric walks to his work bench. The room is full of paintings, some are of Eric. On a long table sits

multiple maquettes. One of “the gum wall”, one of “the hanger”, one of “the park”, one of “the

church”, one of “the multi-verse cafe” and one of “the castle”.

On the left side of the cabin, many little pocket watches stand in line. They create a big pendulum

of time.

Eric goes to his bench. He has a big magnifying glass above his work bench. Lots of tiny tools are

spread across the bench. He lifts a mini screwdriver. He looks through the magnifying glass in

precision. He tightens a few screws on the back of a little wooden music box. He flips the box over.

He wipes it clean. He polishes it.

He opens the wooden box. A ballerina pops up. The ballerina twirls around. Bach suite #1 plays

from the little box. Eric hums to the tune.

Eric closes the music box. He puts it in a small shipping box. He fills up the info on the label:

Page 36: FOR HER I DANCE THE SERIES...Remember that misery, time will devour But you have no clue, how much there is to do Stay focused, stay true There’s so much to do So much to do, so

“””””To: The Multi-verse Cafe”””””

“””””From: YOU”””””

Eric keeps return address empty. He adds a fragile sticker on the box. He continues to hum suite

#1.

Scene 3 - Exterior - Day - Cabin

Eric steps outside.

(POEM ENDS)

Jazz mills music still fills the air.

Old Eric hands the shipping box to Lynne. Lynne puts it in the basket of her blue bicycle. She puts

her helmet on. It is a helmet of an F-16 fighter. Lynne bikes off. Old Eric lights up his pipe one more

time. He blows the blue sparkling smoke and he wafts the smoke away from his face towards

Lynne. Lynne’s bicycle starts to levitate. Eric’s eyes look up slowly. He smiles. Lynne is on her

bicycle with her big helmet. She bikes up to the sky, surrounded by a cloud of blue smoke. She is

silhouetted by the sun. She disappears as she bikes into the horizon.
