Great Harvest Evanston 2
Welcome!CommuNity iS key to a thriviNg buSiNeSS! Returning to Evanston, IL to raise my
family and buy my first business was
a dream and goal of mine.
In 2001, that dream came true. For
the past 15 years my wife, Liz, and
I have continued the Great Harvest
tradition here in Evanston; building
a business and giving back to the
community.
Our area is vibrant with culture,
festivals, events, academic
environment, Division 1 sports, arts,
and so much more. We have owned
GHBC for over 15 years and are now
ready to move on. we are looking for enthusiastic buyers who are ready to take on the next 15 years and make it their own.
In 2016, we were given “The Key to
the City” by Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl.
Great Harvest was recognized by
the city of Evanston as a positive,
driving force in the neighborhood
and community.
Throughout the past 15 years, we
have worked with the Evanston High
School to allow students to show
their talents. The current mural was
painted by three seniors depicting
life in Evanston.

sales groWth
September 2001 was a memorable
time for our nation and specifically
our family; the birth of our second
daughter and the purchase of Great
Harvest.
Sales grew steadily through the first
eight years of ownership. After a
slight dip in sales, in 2015 we began
experiencing growth again. Over
the years we have earned some top
franchise awards:
• 2007 Top Ten Sales Award
• 2008 Top Ten Sales Award
• 2012 Top Ten Metrics
Efficiency Award

our peopleour employeeS roCk! They are the most important part of
our store.
We currently have nine employees.
Three of the nine have been here for
over 10 years, including our oven/
baker, morning lead customer service
lead and our afternoon customer
service manager. Their loyalty and
service excellence shine every day.
We are surrounded by employees
who are our friends and neighbors.
They, in turn, have created an
atmosphere in keeping with our
mission of “Be loose and have fun”
and it is reflected in our repeat
customers and our low turnover.

marketinghuge opportuNity with SoCial media!
We have hired Northwestern
University students to manage our
Facebook page. Expansion to other
channels is an opportunity not yet
tapped to make a bigger impact.
This fall we plan to add ordering
online every day. This will drive sales
up, especially during the holidays.
Customers expect a strong website
and the ability to order online. This is
a cost-effective way to connect with
our customers and create new ones..
(At this time, our website is limited,
but can be easily upgraded through
Great Harvest.)
We are in the Northshore Convention
and Visitors brochure and work with
their group who run Northshore
tours for seniors. During the summer
months, we have 8-10 tours with
25-40 people. We also offer tours
for pre-schools, and work with grade
schools and the local library to
provide incentives for kids to read.
