Pointe work is as rigorous as it is beautiful and the many
small structures of the foot are simply not well matched
anatomically to the punishing demands of dancing
en pointe.
Typically a dancer wil l employ any combination of pointe
shoe products to relieve some of the pain with l imited
effectiveness and consistency. Rarely is the crucial issue
of alignment of the individual dancer’s unique anatomy
taken into account.
As an essential feature of the elegance and function of
the pointe shoe there is neither a right nor left. Unless
the foot and toes are the same shape as the box of the
pointe shoe, the damage to the feet and toes can be
considerable and lasting.
Since En Pointe Orthotics are custom made for each
foot, issues of fit, alignment and support are addressed in
a personalised procedure performed by a certified fitter.
Essentially the shoe becomes distinctly right or left
