The Mustang has been a phenomenal car. It feels good to win the championship. It's been 13 years since my last championship, and it's been a while since I've been in a car that I could say I could win one in."Bret Seafuse and James Gue drove their JBS Motorsports Ford Mustang GT to victory at VIR and in doing so jumped Ford to the top of the manufacturers' standings, edging BMW by four points (348-344) to help Ford capture back-to-back manufacturers' titles. After the Barber Motorsports Park and the 45th Anniversary of the Mus- tang, we took the car to the dyno and found that we were 12 horsepower down. We changed the motor, and once we did that, the rest of the season went great," said Caddell. "We won in New Jersey, we finished second at Laguna and then we finished the season off with another win. It was just a great year." Hi Awesome DMC Members,

As the door closes on yet another wonderful year with the DMC I look back on some very good times. The holiday season for me is a reminder to always look back and reflect on the great things from the previous year. For a lot of us this has been a challenging year when it comes to jobs and our ever struggling economy. But in the midst of all that chal-lenge there are people. To me, that is really what it’s all about - the peo-

ple! The everyday happenings seem to be pushed to the side when given the opportunity to connect with friends and family. That connection outside of the aches and pains of our daily walk really sets the mood for some great conversation and friendships. As I reflect on this last year with the DMC, I can't help but chuckle; I’ve has so many fun times with great people. For me, our DMC family is out of this world! This last year we shared in some great adventures together and we have made great friends. The people of the DMC are truly amazing people who have touched my life in a truly amazing way. I greatly appreciate all of you. I feel very lucky to be part of such an amazing group of people who make the DMC what it is. Thanks to all of you for making this such an amazing club! We'll see you all

at movie night!!

What Is She Up To?

(when she is not cleaning or polishing her Mustang)

As many of you know I like to keep my 2006 Vista Blue ‘Stang sparkling. I truly enjoy making it shine. Have you ever wondered what your membership chair is up to when she is not cleaning her car? I am passionate about volleyball. I love playing (and coaching) the game. Last month I played in the Huntsman World Games in St. George, Utah and garnered a silver medal in the Women’s 50’s/Division 3. Additionally the freshman team I coached at Ponderosa High School completed their season. Check out the pictures below with the car. Do you recognize the car and who is behind the wheel? That is our very own Brooke Smith piloting her dad’s (Ken) 1994 Indy Cobra Pace Car. A great big thanks to Ken for taking time out of his busy day to come out to Pondo with his car and do our photo shoot. A big thanks too to DMC member

Mark Gomez for making the cool posters from our shoot. Thanks again to both of you.

TEN TIPS FOR WINTER STORAGE Griot's Garage / 2007-10-05 Thanks to member Maureen Ravnik for sending us this!

It's that bittersweet time of year... time for collectors in harsher climates to take 'er out for one more ride and put baby to bed for the winter. We've got 10 tips from Richard Griot of Griot's Garage to help you do it right.

• Cover the car with a breathable car cover. Many garages might not have a vapor barrier beneath the floor, so

moisture can come up through the floor, speeding corrosion and rust.

• If you're storing your car for longer than a month, put a battery manager on it. The device senses when a bat-

tery needs to be charged and turns itself on and off accordingly.

• Top off the gas tank and add a fuel preservative. The full tank will keep out moisture, and the preservative will

keep the gas from breaking down. After adding the preservative, go for a short drive to run the preservative through the injectors and carburetors.

• Try putting down a few moisture pads on the upholstery to absorb moisture inside the car. No one wants to

smell mildew in the spring.

• Rodents can nest in an engine compartment. Try a rodent repellent under the hood, but remember to remove

it before starting up.

• If you're in a freezing climate, make sure your antifreeze is fresh and topped off to avoid corrosion. Top off

your windshield solvent too.

• Change the oil before storing - you don't want to see nasty sludge in the spring.

• Over-inflate your tires to avoid flat spotting. If storing longer than a couple of months, you can jack up the car

to take pressure off the tires.

• Put it away with a good wash and wax job to protect the paint. Protect the chrome with wax or paint sealant.

When a car sits, the oil settles into the pan, leaving the engine without lubrication. In the spring, disconnect the coil wire and crank the engine over several times or until the oil pressure increase - if your vehicle has a gauge. Then reconnect the coil wire and you should be good to go!
