CIVIL NOTES
1. ALL WORK DETAILED ON THESE PLANS AND PERFORMED UNDER THIS CONTRACT SHALL BE
CONSTRUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS AND THE PROJECT
GEOTECHNICAL REPORT. WHERE INDICATED, STATE AND/OR LOCAL STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS SHALL
APPLY.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ABIDE BY ALL LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL LAWS, RULES AND REGULATIONS
WHICH APPLY TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THESE IMPROVEMENTS, INCLUDING EPA REQUIREMENTS WITH
RESPECT TO STORM WATER DISCHARGE.
3. PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY EXISTING CONDITIONS AGAINST THE
PROVIDED SURVEY INCLUDING THE HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL LOCATIONS OF ALL POTENTIAL
OBSTRUCTIONS INCLUDING ALL UNDERGROUND UTILITIES. SHOULD A CONFLICT EXIST, THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE OWNER AND ENGINEER SO THAT THE CONFLICT CAN BE RESOLVED
WITH A MINIMUM AMOUNT OF DELAY.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT LINE LOCATING SERVICE FOR THE LOCATION OF EXISTING UTILITIES
TWO (2) WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO ANY EXCAVATION.
5. ALL ELECTRICAL, TELEPHONE, CABLE TV, GAS AND OTHER UTILITY LINES, CABLES AND APPURTENANCES
ENCOUNTERED DURING CONSTRUCTION THAT REQUIRE RELOCATION SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH
THAT UTILITY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATION OF ALL NECESSARY
UTILITY ADJUSTMENTS. NO ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION WILL BE ALLOWED FOR DELAY OR
INCONVENIENCES CAUSED BY UTILITY COMPANY WORK CREWS. THE CONTRACTOR MY BE REQUIRED
TO RESCHEDULE HIS ACTIVITIES TO ALLOW UTILITY CREWS TO PERFORM THEIR REQUIRED WORK.
6. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTING ALL EXISTING UTILITY LINES WITHIN THE
CONSTRUCTION AREA. ANY DAMAGE TO EXISTING FACILITIES CAUSED BY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
7. CONSTRUCTION SHALL NOT OCCUR IN ANY PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY, PUBLIC OR PRIVATE EASEMENTS,
BEYOND THE LIMITS OF DISTURBANCE, OR OUTSIDE THE PROPERTY LIMITS WITHOUT A PERMIT.
8. ANY PUBLIC OR PRIVATE PROPERTY OR IMPROVEMENTS THAT ARE DAMAGED DURING CONSTRUCTION
SHALL BE REPAIRED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE OWNER AT THE COST OF THE CONTRACTOR.
9. OVERNIGHT PARKING OF CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT SHALL NOT OBSTRUCT DRIVEWAYS OR
DESIGNATED TRAFFIC LANES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT STORE ANY EQUIPMENT OR MATERIAL
WITHIN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY. OVERNIGHT PARKING OF CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES ON PRIVATE
PROPERTY IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR.
10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL THE NECESSARY PERMITS FOR THE PROJECT PRIOR TO
COMMENCING CONSTRUCTION (I.E. BARRICADING, TOPSOIL DISTURBANCE, EXCAVATION, NPDES STORM
WATER, SHORING ETC.).
11. ALL PROPERTY CORNERS DESTROYED DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE REPLACED AT THE
CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. ALL PROPERTY CORNERS MUST BE RESET BY A REGISTERED LAND
SURVEYOR.
12. ALL BARRICADES AND CONSTRUCTION SIGNING SHALL CONFORM TO APPLICABLE SECTION OF THE
"MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES" (MUTCD), U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION,
LATEST EDITION.
13. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS
CONTROLLING POLLUTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT PRIOR TO THE START OF THE PROJECT
CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE AGENCIES RESPONSIBLE FOR AIR, NOISE, AND
WATER QUALITY CONTROL REGULATIONS TO DETERMINE THE STANDARDS WHICH SHALL ADHERE
DURING CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN, PREPARE, SUBMIT ALL FORMS,
APPLICATIONS PERMITS, AND/OR PLANS REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL
LAWS CONTROLLING POLLUTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO MODIFY ALL
PLANS, PERMITS, FORMS, APPLICATIONS AS REQUIRED, AS SITE CONDITIONS CHANGE TO STAY IN
COMPLIANCE WITH THESE LAWS AND REGULATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
ANY RECORD KEEPING AND/OR INSPECTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THESE LAWS AND REGULATIONS. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE OWNER ONE ADDITIONAL COPY OF EACH REQUIRED PLAN,
SUBMITTED FORM OR APPLICATION, AND PLAN UPDATE AS THEY ARE SUBMITTED. THESE
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION (N.Y.S.D.E.C.) REQUIREMENTS. CONTRACTOR SHALL FILE THE
APPROPRIATE NOTICES, INCLUDING THE NOTICE OF TERMINATION (N.O.T.) FORM, WITH THE REQUIRED
AGENCIES. NOTICE OF INTENT (N.O.I.) SHALL BE FILED BY ENGINEER/OWNER WHO SHALL NOTIFY
CONTRACTOR OF ALLOWED CONSTRUCTION START DATE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO MODIFY THE
"STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN" (SWPPP) AS REQUIRED. PERFORMANCE OF THESE
RESPONSIBILITIES ARE INCIDENTAL TO CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT AND NO SEPARATE PAYMENT
WILL BE MADE.
14. BEFORE COMMENCING CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR SHALL LOCATE, POTHOLE AND MEASURE DEPTH
TO TOP OF ALL EXISTING, UNDERGROUND WET & DRY UTILITIES AT PROPOSED CROSSING LOCATIONS,
ACCORDING TO THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS OR AS SPECIFIED BY THE UTILITY OWNER. CONTRACTOR
SHALL PROVIDE ENGINEER AND OWNER WITH AN "AS-BUILT" PLAN OF ALL INFORMATION, AND RECEIVE
FORMAL APPROVAL BEFORE STARTING WORK.
15. CONTRACTOR TO ENSURE ALL WORK PERFORMED IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH EXISTING PROJECT
PERMITS, STUDIES AND REPORTS PROVIDED IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS INCLUDING: CONDITIONAL
USE, SPECIAL USE, OR ANY OTHER LAND USE TYPE PERMITS INCLUDING THE ASSOCIATED CONDITIONS
OF APPROVAL; ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES AND REPORTS; HYDROLOGICAL STUDIES AND REPORTS; ETC
16. CONTRACTOR SHALL DETERMINE THE SOURCE OF AND SECURE APPROVAL OF CONSTRUCTION WATER
AS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT.
17. CONTRACTOR SHALL MANAGE DUST, DIRT, MUD, SNOW, ETC… DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE IN
SUITABLE MANNER SO AS TO NOT IMPACT THE COMMISSIONING, PERFORMANCE, INSPECTION, OR
RELIABILITY OF ANY EQUIPMENT SUCH AS BUT NOT LIMITED TO: MODULES, COMBINERS, INVERTERS,
TRANSFORMERS, DISCONNECTS, SWITCHGEAR, SCADA / SEEDS, WEATHER STATIONS, CONDUCTORS
AND TERMINATIONS, AND TRACKERS.
18. PANELS SHALL BE CLEANED BY CONTRACTOR TO REMOVE ALL DUST WITHIN THE 48 HOUR WINDOW
PROCEEDING PERFORMANCE TESTING. CLEANING PLAN SHALL BE APPROVED BY OWNER, AND NO
SEPARATE PAYMENT SHALL BE MADE TO CONTRACTOR FOR SUCH ACTIVITIES.
19. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL A SNOW MONITORING SYSTEM ON SITE, TO BE OPERATED AND
MAINTAINED BY THE OWNER. THE SYSTEM SHALL BE INSTALLED TO ALERT THE OWNER AFTER A
SPECIFIED AMOUNT OF SNOW HAS ACCUMULATED ON THE SITE, TO ALLOW FOR PLOWING AND
MAINTENANCE OF THE SITE EQUIPMENT. THE OWNER SHALL SPECIFY THE AMOUNT OF SNOW
ACCUMULATION NEEDED TO FOR THE SYSTEM ALERT.

CERTIFIED AS A SOLAR INSTALLER BY THE NORTH AMERICAN BOARD OF CERTIFIED ENERGY
PRACTITIONERS (NABCEP), TO BE DEEMED A QUALIFIED SOLAR INSTALLER FOR THE PURPOSED OF
THIS DEFINITION.

NOISE MITIGATION NOTES
1. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A CONSTRUCTION NOISE
CONTROL PLAN TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE ENGINEER AND TOWN FOR APPROVAL. THE CONSTRUCTION
NOISE PLAN SHALL SHALL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
1.1. POTENTIAL NOISE IMPACTS WILL BE MINIMIZED BY PROHIBITING TRUCK DRIVERS FROM USING

GRADING NOTES
1. ALL WORK RELATED TO PAD CONSTRUCTION, SITE PREPARATION AND GRAVEL INSTALLATION, AS
SHOWN ON THIS PLAN, SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE "GEOTECHNICAL
INVESTIGATION". ALL OTHER WORK SHALL, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED OR PROVIDED FOR HEREON,
BE CONSTRUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROJECT SPECIFICATION (FIRST PRIORITY), AND/OR
STATE OR LOCAL STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS.
2. EARTH SLOPES SHALL NOT EXCEED SLOPE LIMITS RECOMMENDED BY THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER.
3. IT IS THE INTENT OF THESE PLANS THAT THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT PERFORM ANY WORK OUTSIDE
OF THE PROPERTY BOUNDARIES OR CLEARING LIMITS EXCEPT AS REQUIRED BY THIS PLAN.

AND/OR A BORROW SITE CONTAINING ACCEPTABLE FILL MATERIAL SHALL BE OBTAINED BY THE
CONTRACTOR IN COMPLIANCE WITH APPLICABLE ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS AND APPROVED BY
THE ENGINEER AND OWNER.
6. VERIFY ALL ELEVATIONS SHOWN ON PLAN FROM BASIS OF ELEVATION MONUMENT PRIOR TO BEGINNING
CONSTRUCTION.
7. FILL MATERIAL SHALL NOT CONTAIN DELETERIOUS MATERIALS OR ORGANIC MATTER. NO ROCK OR
IRREDUCIBLE MATERIAL WITH A MINIMUM DIMENSION GREATER THAN 2 INCHES SHALL BE BURIED OR
PLACED IN FILL.
8. ALL SUBGRADE TESTING REQUIREMENTS AND TESTING FREQUENCY SHALL BE PER THE PROJECT
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER'S RECOMMENDATIONS.
9. CONDUCT EARTHWORK OPERATIONS ONLY IN AREA REQUIRED FOR IMMEDIATE CONSTRUCTION
ACTIVITY AND THEN ONLY IF SEDIMENT CONTROL DEVICES ARE IN PLACE. MASS CLEARING AND
GRADING OF THE SITE SHALL BE AVOIDED.
10. COMPACTION REQUIREMENTS: 92-98% MODIFIED PROCTOR
EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL NOTES
1. A COPY OF THE APPROVED GRADING AND DRAINAGE PLAN FOR THIS PROJECT AND THIS "STORM WATER
POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN" (SWPPP) SHALL BE MAINTAINED ON THE SITE AND AVAILABLE FOR
REVIEW. THOSE ELEMENTS OF THE GRADING AND DRAINAGE PLAN PERTINENT TO OR REFERENCED ON
THE SWPPP SHALL BE CONSIDERED A PART OF THE SWPPP.
2. FOR ALL PROJECTS, THE NOTICE OF INTENT (NOI) SHALL BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED TO THE STATE
DEC PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY (INCLUDING CLEARING, GRUBBING OR GRADING).
CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT COMMENCE WORK UNTIL NOTIFIED BY ENGINEER. OWNER AND ENGINEER
WILL ADVISE CONTRACTOR OF PROCESS AND ALLOWABLE TIMING OF CONSTRUCTION START/EARTH
DISTURBANCE.
3. THE SWPPP AND RELATED RECORDS MUST BE MADE AVAILABLE AT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE DURING
WORKING HOURS WHILE CONSTRUCTION IS OCCURRING AND SHALL BE MADE AVAILABLE UPON
REQUEST BY A STATE OR MUNICIPAL INSPECTOR.
4. THE PRIME CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM AT A MINIMUM, QUARTERLY NON-STORM WATER DISCHARGE
VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE CONSTRUCTION SITE AND WITHIN 48 HOURS PRIOR TO AND POST EACH
QUALIFYING RAINFALL PRECIPITATION GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO HALF AN INCH (1/2 INCH). THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE A REPORT DOCUMENTING HIS/HER FINDINGS ON THE CONDITIONS OF
THE SWPPP CONTROLS AND NOTE ANY EROSION PROBLEM AREAS. THE CONTRACTOR'S REPORT IS TO
BE MAINTAINED ON-SITE BY THE OPERATOR. FACILITIES SHALL BE MAINTAINED AS NECESSARY TO
ENSURE THEIR CONTINUED FUNCTIONING. IN ADDITION, ALL TEMPORARY SILTATION CONTROLS SHALL
BE MAINTAINED IN A SATISFACTORY CONDITION UNTIL SUCH TIME THE CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED,
PERMANENT DRAINAGE FACILITIES ARE OPERATIONAL, AND THE POTENTIAL FOR EROSION HAS PASSED
AS DETERMINED BY THE ENGINEER OR HIS/HER DESIGNEE.
5. THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THESE PLANS AND THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, REPLACEMENT, AND
UPGRADING OF THESE FACILITIES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR UNTIL ALL
CONSTRUCTION IS APPROVED AND A NOTICE OF TERMINATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED.
6. THE FACILITIES SHOWN ON THIS PLAN MUST BE CONSTRUCTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALL CLEARING
AND GRADING ACTIVITIES IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO ENSURE THAT SEDIMENT-LADEN WATER DOES NOT
ENTER THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM OR VIOLATE APPLICABLE WATER STANDARDS.
7. THE CONTRACTOR MUST ALSO MAINTAIN RECORDS WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
· THE DATES WHEN MAJOR GRADING ACTIVITIES OCCUR IN A PARTICULAR AREA AND;
· THE DATES WHEN CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES CEASE IN AN AREA, TEMPORARILY OR
PERMANENTLY AND;
· THE DATES WHEN AN AREA IS STABILIZED, TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY AND;
· THE DATES WHEN ANY MAINTENANCE/REPLACEMENT OR REMOVAL OF REQUIRED BMP AND;
· ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS AS DEFINED BY THE AHJ.
8. CONSTRUCTION SITES ARE DYNAMIC IN NATURE. THE SITE OPERATOR IS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN FULL
COMPLIANCE WITH THE GENERAL PERMIT (GP), AS ISSUED BY THE STATE, TO MAINTAIN AN EFFECTIVE
SWPPP. AS SUCH, THIS PLAN MUST BE UPDATED TO ACCURATELY REFLECT SITE FEATURES AND
OPERATIONS WHICH MAY BECOME EVIDENT DURING CONSTRUCTION AND/OR DURING OR AFTER
RAINFALL EVENTS. THE PLAN MUST ALSO BE AMENDED WITHIN 48 HOURS IF IT IS DETERMINED THAT
BMPS ARE NOT EFFECTIVE AT MINIMIZING POLLUTANT DISCHARGES FROM THE SITE.
9. THE SCHEMATIC EROSION CONTROL MEASURES SHOWN ARE A MINIMUM. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
PROVIDE ALL NECESSARY MEANS TO PROTECT EXISTING FACILITIES AND ADJACENT PROPERTIES FROM
NOISE, DUST AND STORM WATER RUNOFF THROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT AND SHALL
CONDUCT OPERATIONS IN SUCH A MANNER THAT STORM WATER WILL BE CONTAINED ON-SITE OR
CHANNELED INTO A STORM COLLECTION SYSTEM, PROVIDED THAT IT IS FREE FROM POLLUTANTS AND
DEBRIS.
10. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL PERMANENT AND EXISTING STORM WATER FACILITIES FROM
SEDIMENT/SILT DURING CONSTRUCTION.
11. REMOVE BUILT UP SEDIMENT FROM BEHIND FIBER ROLL, COMPOST WATTLE AND/OR SILT FENCE AS
NECESSARY TO PREVENT FAILURE.
12. RECOMMENDED SEEDING DATES TO ESTABLISH PERMANENT VEGETATIVE COVER ARE BETWEEN
AUGUST 15 AND SEPTEMBER 15. ALL OTHER TIMES WILL REQUIRE A TEMPORARY SOIL STABILANT OR A
TEMPORARY WEED-FREE VEGETATIVE COVER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF
AGRICULTURE (USDA) NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICES (NRCS) COVER CROP
SPECIFICATION (340).
14. STABILIZATION MEASURES MUST BE INITIATED AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE IN PORTIONS OF THE SITE
WHERE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES HAVE TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY CEASED, BUT IN NO CASE
MORE THAN FOURTEEN (14) DAYS AFTER THE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES IN THAT PORTION OF THE SITE
HAVE TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY CEASED.
15. ONCE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED, ALL TEMPORARY PRACTICES HAVE BEEN
REMOVED, STORMWATER DISCHARGES HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED (IF APPLICABLE) AND THE SITE HAS
UNDERGONE FINAL STABILIZATION, THE OWNER OR ITS DESIGNATE WILL SUBMIT A SIGNED AND
COMPLETE NOTICE OF TERMINATION (NOT) FORM TO THE STATE DEC.
16. ALL WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH THE GENERAL PERMIT REGULATIONS REGARDING TURBIDITY LIMITS
FOR STORM WATER DISCHARGE FROM CONSTRUCTION SITES.
17. DETAIL SHEETS IN THIS PLAN SET PROVIDE AVAILABLE EROSION CONTROL MEASURES PER HANDBOOK.
CONTRACTOR SHALL AVAIL THEMSELVES OF ALL AVAILABLE MEASURES FOR USE ON SITE PER THE
PROVISIONS OF THE PROJECT SWPPP.
TREE PROTECTION NOTES
1. THE AREA BENEATH THE DRIP LINE OF ALL TREES WITH A TRUNK DIAMETER OF 3 INCHES OR GREATER
LOCATED OUTSIDE OF THE PROJECT CLEARING LIMITS OR IN PROXIMITY TO STAGING AND STOCKPILING
AREAS SHALL NOT BE DISTURBED. DISTURBANCE INCLUDES REMOVING TREES, STOCKPILING MATERIAL,
STORING EQUIPMENT, OR DRIVING AND PARKING VEHICLES BENEATH DRIP LINES OF TREES. ADDITIONAL
TREES REQUIRING PROTECTION MAY BE DESIGNATED BY THE ENGINEER-IN-CHARGE (EIC). THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A PLAN TO THE EIC FOR APPROVAL SHOWING THE PROPOSED STAGING,
STORAGE AND STOCKPILE AREAS FOR EACH SITE PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF ANY EQUIPMENT OR
MATERIALS AT THE SUBJECT AREA.
TIME OF YEAR CUTTING RESTRICTIONS FOR INDIANA BAT & NORTHERN
LONG-EARED BAT
1. IN ORDER TO PREVENT ANY DIRECT TAKINGS OF INDIANA BAT (MYOTIS SODALIS), A FEDERAL AND STATE
LISTED ENDANGERED SPECIES AND NORTHERN LONG-EARED BAT (MYOTIS SEPTENTRIONALIS), A
FEDERAL AND STATE LISTED THREATENED SPECIES, THE CONTRACTOR'S ATTENTION IS HEREBY
DIRECTED TO THE FACT THAT TREE CUTTING SHALL ONLY BE PERFORMED FROM OCTOBER 31 THROUGH
MARCH 31. TIME OF YEAR TREE CUTTING RESTRICTIONS APPLY TO TREES THAT ARE 3 INCHES OR
GREATER DIAMETER AT BREAST HEIGHT (DBH).
SOIL RESTORATION:
1. SOIL RESTORATION IS A REQUIRED PRACTICE APPLIED ACROSS AREAS OF A DEVELOPMENT SITE
WHERE SOILS HAVE BEEN DISTURBED AND WILL BE VEGETATED IN ORDER TO RECOVER THE ORIGINAL
PROPERTIES AND POROSITY OF THE SOIL.
2. DURING PERIODS OF RELATIVELY LOW TO MODERATE SUBSOIL MOISTURE, THE DISTURBED SUBSOILS

1. LOCATE THE FACILITY A MINIMUM OF 100 FEET FROM DRAINAGE SWALES, STORMDRAIN INLETS, WETLANDS, STREAMS AND OTHER SURFACE WATERS. PREVENTSURFACE WATER FROM ENTERING THE STRUCTURE EXCEPT FOR THE ACCESS ROAD.PROVIDE APPROPRIATE ACCESS WITH A GRAVEL ACCESS ROAD SLOPED DOWN TOTHE STRUCTURE. SIGNS SHALL BE PLACED TO DIRECT DRIVERS TO THE FACILITYAFTER THEIR LOAD IS DISCHARGED.
2. ALL WASHOUT FACILITIES WILL BE LINED TO PREVENT LEACHING OF LIQUIDS INTOTHE GROUND. THE LINER SHALL BE PLASTIC SHEETING WITH A MINIMUM THICKNESSOF 10 MILS WITH NO HOLES OR TEARS, AND ANCHORED BEYOND THE TOP OF THEPIT WITH AN EARTHEN BERM, SAND BAGS, STONE, OR OTHER STRUCTURALAPPURTENANCE EXCEPT AT THE ACCESS POINT.
3. SIZE WASHOUT STRUCTURE FOR VOLUME NECESSARY TO CONTAIN WASH WATERAND SOLIDS AND MAINTAIN AT LEAST 4 INCHES OF FREEBOARD. TYPICALDIMENSIONS ARE 8 FEET X 8 FEET X 2 FEET DEEP.
4. IF PRE-FABRICATED WASHOUTS ARE USED THEY MUST ENSURE THE CAPTURE ANDCONTAINMENT OF THE CONCRETE WASH AND BE SIZED BASED ON THE EXPECTEDFREQUENCY OF CONCRETE POURS. THEY SHALL BE SITED AS NOTED IN THELOCATION CRITERIA.
5. ALL CONCRETE WASHOUT FACILITIES SHALL BE INSPECTED DAILY. DAMAGED ORLEAKING FACILITIES SHALL BE DEACTIVATED AND REPAIRED OR REPLACEDIMMEDIATELY. EXCESS RAINWATER THAT HAS ACCUMULATED OVER HARDENEDCONCRETE SHOULD BE PUMPED TO A STABILIZED AREA, SUCH AS A GRASS FILTERSTRIP.
6. ACCUMULATED HARDENED MATERIAL SHALL BE REMOVED WHEN 75% OF THESTORAGE CAPACITY OF THE STRUCTURE IS FILLED. ANY EXCESS WASH WATER SHALLBE PUMPED INTO A CONTAINMENT VESSEL AND PROPERLY DISPOSED OF OFF SITE.
7. DISPOSE OF THE HARDENED MATERIAL OFF-SITE IN A CONSTRUCTION/DEMOLITIONLANDFILL. ON-SITE DISPOSAL MAY BE ALLOWED IF THIS HAS BEEN APPROVED ANDACCEPTED AS PART OF THE PROJECTS SWPPP. IN THAT CASE, THE MATERIAL SHOULDBE RECYCLED AS SPECIFIED, OR BURIED AND COVERED WITH A MINIMUM OF 2 FEETOF CLEAN COMPACTED EARTHFILL THAT IS PERMANENTLY STABILIZED TO PREVENTEROSION.
8. THE PLASTIC LINER SHALL BE REPLACED WITH EACH CLEANING OF THE WASHOUTFACILITY.

7. BRANCHES OF DECIDUOUS TREES SHALL BE PRUNED BACK BY NO MORE THAN ONEQUARTER (1/4) TO BALANCE THE TOP GROWTH WITH ROOTS AND TO PRESERVETHEIR CHARACTER AND SHAPE. THE CENTRAL LEADER OF TREE SHALL NOT BEPRUNED.
8. PROVIDE PLANTING PITS AS INDICATED ON PLANTING DETAILS. BACKFILL PLANTINGPITS WITH ONE PART EACH OF TOPSOIL, PEAT MOSS AND PARENT MATERIAL. IF WET
SOIL CONDITIONS EXIST THEN PLANTING PITS SHALL BE EXCAVATED AN ADDITIONAL12" AND FILLED WITH CRUSHED STONE.

10. OPTIMUM PLANTING TIME:
DECIDUOUS - APRIL 1 TO JUNE 1 & OCTOBER 15 TO NOVEMBER 30.CONIFEROUS - APRIL 1 TO JUNE 1 & SEPTEMBER 1 TO NOVEMBER 1.
11. NEWLY INSTALLED PLANT MATERIAL SHALL BE WATERED AT THE TIME OFINSTALLATION. REGULAR WATERING SHALL BE PROVIDED TO ENSURE THEESTABLISHMENT, GROWTH AND SURVIVAL OF ALL PLANTS. WATER AMOUNTS SHOULD
BE ADJUSTED AS RAIN EVENTS OCCUR.
12. ALL PLANT MATERIAL SHALL BE GUARANTEED FOR TWO YEARS AFTER THE DATE OFFINAL ACCEPTANCE. ANY PLANT MATERIAL THAT DIES WITHIN THAT TIME PERIODSHALL BE REMOVED, INCLUDING THE STUMP, AND REPLACED BY A PLANT OF SIMILAR
