A mandala has historically been used as asymbol for wholeness, protection, and
enlightenment. Mandala's originated in Chinafrom Buddhist practices and have since spread
across the world carrying many forms ofmeaning.

What is a Mandala?
How is a Mandala Created?Traditionally, mandalas are painted, drawn, or
made with sand from the center circle andradiate outwards. The center circle is said to
symbolize a person beginning their journey toknowledge and wisdom.

How to make a nature mandala:Nature mandalas can be as simple, or complex, as youchoose. While spending time outside, notice what calls
to you. An interesting leaf, or rock, a funny shapedtwig... Collect them as you search for an open area to
begin creating your mandala.
