CONSERVATION CULTIVATION IN AURORA
JULy 31, 2018
A CONTINUING EDUCATION PROJECT WET AND PROJECT LEARNING TREE WORKSHOP FOR K-12 EDUCATORS
In this interactive workshop you’ll learn, first hand, why it’s important to conserve water and steps you can take to do your part in saving water. You’ll hear from industry experts and water conservation specialists. You’ll walk away with the nationally recognized Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) Curriculum Guide**, Project WET Conserve Curriculum Guide, a better understanding of the impact water conservation has on our community and access to innovative educational opportunities provided by the Aurora Water and Aurora Parks, Recreation and Open Space Departments. This workshop is perfect for teachers working with environmental clubs or with students who want to take action.
• Earn .5 semester hours of graduate/re-certification credit FREE. Aurora Water will cover the tuition cost for teachers who teach within
the city of Aurora.
LOCATION:The workshop will be take place at Aurora Reservoir in the Senac Creek Nature Center, 5800 S. Powhaton Road, Aurora, CO 80016. The course will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
COURSE EXPENSES: FREEA $25 fee is required to reserve your spot. Checks will be returned upon completion of the workshop.
TO APPLY:Space is limited and application forms will be accepted through Friday, June 29, 2018. Preference will be given to educators who have previously attended Forest to Faucets: Aurora’s Water Resources, city of Aurora educators and those teaching science or related subjects. All applicants will be notified of their acceptance status no later than July 6, 2018. If you are in need of special accommodations, please let us know on your application form.
