Forever Love 1 Corinthians 13:8-13

Big idea: Love is superior to spiritual gifts, because love continues forever, but spiritual gifts cease. Connecting If you had to sing a Karaoke song, what would you sing? Observation When you think of a loving person, who comes to mind? How does the world define love? Is it different than the Christian definition? Understanding Read 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. Why are people so tempted (like David Koresh and the Corinthians) to define godliness by spiritual gifts? What is meant by Karl Barth’s saying: “When the sun rises, all candles will be snuffed out?” Christians differ regarding on the question of whether the miraculous (sign) gifts have ceased, but either way, most don’t use the argument that “perfect” refers to the canon of Scripture being complete anymore. Why? What is Paul referring to when he brings up “childish ways”? Living What are some of the implications of the idea, “Love never ends”?
