FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BLUEPRINT 2015, EDITED FOR AN ELEVATED EXPERIENCE
5 May 2015, Singapore – Six years since its inauguration, the BLUEPRINT Tradeshow and Emporium has consistently grown from strength to strength. Touted as Asia’s premier platform to connect local, regional and international designers to both Asian and global buyers, BLUEPRINT Tradeshow and Emporium 2015 will feature a stronger and tighter curation of showcasing labels, as well as collaborations with the hottest lifestyle brands during Emporium. In line with other international tradeshows, this year’s BLUEPRINT is dedicated to facilitate the best showcase experience by curating a tighter community of individualistic local and global labels, while retaining strong buyer matchmaking. Comprising a unique mix of emerging and established labels, all participating brands have undergone stringent assessment to ensure that they are ready for international introduction. BLUEPRINT 2015 TAKES LOCAL SUPPORT TO A NEW LEVEL A proud supporter of our homegrown labels, BLUEPRINT continues to introduce new initiatives and opportunities to propel our homegrown designers into the international fashion spotlight. This year, one Ready-‐To-‐Wear and one Accessory designer will stand a chance to secure a showroom representation during the Spring Summer 2016 Market Week in September in the fashion capital of New York. Selected by a panel of esteemed industry experts, participating local brands will be judged based on criteria such as quality, craftsmanship, social media presence, visual merchandising presentation, and export readiness.

BLUEPRINT 2015 INTRODUCES INNOVATIVE INITIATIVES This year, the Textile and Fashion Federation Singapore (TaFf) in collaboration with IE Singapore will be introducing the FashionIsTech Project. An initiative that aims to assist promising Singaporean fashion designers to creatively differentiate themselves via innovative collaborations with technology houses such as 3D printing experts and Waste2Wear Company, a manufacturer that recycles 100% post-‐consumer plastic bottles into eco-‐friendly fabrics. Working with 3D printing houses, BLUEPRINT participants one.61 and Carrie.K will be experimenting with an additive manufacturing process which will allow the designers to design and build intricate pieces that has proven too challenging to be accomplished via hand tooling. The flexibility and feasibility of 3D modeling will also enable designers to tweak designs quickly offering an efficient and cost-‐effective alternative to producing prototypes and one-‐of-‐a-‐kind products. The second designer-‐technology collaboration between Waste2Wear Company and local clothing label, Pleatation, has proven to be a perfect fit. Waste2Wear specializes in a unique process that involves turning environmentally damaging waste into useable and sustainable yarns. The recycled yarns are then combined with natural fibers to be woven or knitted into 100% eco-‐friendly fabrics, suitable for garments, home textiles and accessories. Not only is it a sustainable source of fabric, the malleability of the synthetic fabric woven from the recycled yarns is especially suitable for Pleatation’s design concept which specializes in pleats. This partnership aims to encourage designers to explore alternative fabrics with sustainability in mind. The accessories and apparels from the aforementioned special collaboration will all be displayed in a special installation at both BLUEPRINT Tradeshow and Emporium this year.
