Schoology is much like Edmodo. However, it is more accepted for High School use.

I have not used this program as much as Edmodo. However, my students seem to use it seamlessly.

Todaysmeet.com is a wonderful way to formatively assess understanding. (tutorial) Pupils are more likely to share in this format, questions they may not ordinarily ask aloud. Their peers will also share answers.
