Dear Tanilba Bay Parents and Friends Tanilba Bay loves any chance to get their glad rags on and we are always amazed by the creativity of parents and children when we have one of our special dress-up days. Money raised from S Day will go to Stewart House, a very special charity that takes very good care of children in NSW public schools who have experienced challenging circumstances in their personal lives. This year, our generous school community raised well over $1500 to send off to Stewart House!! A big thank you to Mrs Bailey, Mrs Koller, Mrs Burr and Mrs Stone, who led organisation of the day and made sure that our students not only had fun things to wear, but fun things to do. Thank you also to all our creative and handy Mums and Dads who came up with epic costume ideas. Another highlight of this week was Parent-Teacher Interviews. It was so great to see teachers with full schedules, with parents eager to catch up and hear how they can support their child’s learning. If you weren’t able to connect with your child’s teacher with a parent-teacher interview, they’re always eager to partner with you and would welcome hearing from you. What a SSSSSuper Day!

Dear Tanilba Bay Parents and Friends

Tanilba Bay loves any chance to get their glad rags on and we are always amazed by the creativity of parents and children when we have one of our special dress-up days. Money raised from S Day will go to Stewart House, a very special charity that takes very good care of children in NSW public schools who have experienced challenging circumstances in their personal lives. SAFETY STUFF: Hazard Reduction Burn and Snake Season

Our friends at Tilligerry RFS have advised that there will be a hazard reduction burn happening at Mallabulla tomorrow (Friday). If smoke heads our way, we will adapt our plans depending on impact. Children who are asthmatic will have the option of a supervised indoor play space, and as always, will have their Ventolin close by.

The RFS are very keen for us to take on board the lessons of last year’s horror fire season and be very prepared for whatever this season brings. You can help by making sure we have your completed Bushfire Contacts form handed in here at school.

The arrival of Spring, and the hazard reduction burn, brings with it the possibility of snakes on the move. Next week’s PBL message will be “Be Snake Aware”, and we will actively teach children what do if they sight a snake on the grounds (Stand Still, Keep Watch, Walk slowly away when safe)

Years 3 and 5 Check-In Tests

Our Year 5s have now almost completed their Check-In tests (just a few make-up tests to do). Teachers and Exec are excited to see the results, as they will help us understand our students better and assess the effectiveness of our programs.

Did you know….

Our friends at Tilligerry Lions Club have made a generous donation to help us support students in need.

Ms Sawyer will be joining the Tilligerry View Club next week as their speaker. The View Club are keen to hear about what’s happening in our beautiful school, including how we have responded to the current pandemic.

We are so grateful for the support of our fabulous community service organisations and always love to partner with others in the best interests of Tanilba Bay students.

Next week’s PBL message: Be Snake Aware!
