Bus Riders, your bus numbers may have changed for this year.
Drop off and pick up bus locations and bus times should be the
same as last year. If you have specific questions about your high
school student’s bus transportation, please call the high school at
256-845-0535 or Bus Transportation at 256-845-9288. All
students must wear a mask every day on the bus and will have
assigned seats.

Traditional Classroom Option
STUDENTS ATTEND SCHOOL DAILY ON A NORMAL SCHEDULE.
IF HEALTH CONDITIONS WARRANT, FORT PAYNE HIGH SCHOOL IS PREPARED TO
EMPLOY ALTERNATIVE METHODS FOR TEACHING & LEARNING.
Virtual Classroom Option
A FULLY ONLINE LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS WHO
ACCESS LEARNING MATERIALS ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME IN
THE ONLINE ENVIRONMENT. THE PROGRAM OFFERS EACH
STUDENT A PERSONALIZED PACE AND SCHEDULE.
TRADITIONAL IN CLASS INSTRUCTION
• TRADITIONAL LEARNING: STUDENTS ATTEND SCHOOL DAILY ON A NORMAL SCHEDULE
(MONDAY-FRIDAY)
• THE CLASSROOM TEACHER WILL CONDUCT BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER FACE-TO-FACE
EDUCATIONAL INSTRUCTION
• THE CLASSROOM TEACHER WILL RECORD ALL LESSONS AND PLACE IN SCHOOLOGY FOR
STUDENT RETRIEVAL
TRADITIONAL IN CLASS INSTRUCTION
• IN-CLASS INSTRUCTION
• 5 DAYS A WEEK
• SOCIAL DISTANCING WHEN APPLICABLE
• MASKS REQUIRED WHEN SOCIAL DISTANCING IS NOT ACHIEVABLE
• STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE TRADITIONAL LEARNING OPTION WILL RETURN TO SCHOOL ON
AUGUST 12TH FOLLOWING A NORMAL OPERATING SCHEDULE.
• 9-12 STUDENTS WILL BE ASSIGNED COURSEWORK AND ASSIGNMENTS FROM THE DIGITAL CURRICULUM
(SCHOOLS PLP OR ACCESS) AND OTHER INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES AND IS FACILITATED BY CLASSROOM
TEACHERS THROUGH LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, SCHOOLS PLP.
CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION
• CLASSROOM INFORMATION, NEWSLETTERS, IMPORTANT DATES, TIMES, AND EVENTS WILL BE SHARED WITH STUDENTS
AND PARENTS VIA SCHOOLS PLP, EMAIL, TELEPHONE, AND OTHER ACCEPTABLE COMMUNICATION TOOLS.
• CLASSROOM TEACHERS WILL USE ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS TO TEACH STANDARDS, PROVIDE
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE, AND MEET THE ACADEMIC NEEDS OF STUDENTS.
• THE CLASSROOM TEACHER WILL CONDUCT BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER FACE-TO-FACE EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE
WHEN STUDENTS ARE PHYSICALLY PRESENT.
• THE CLASSROOM TEACHER WILL PROVIDE INTERVENTION SUPPORT OR LESSONS TO STUDENTS WHEN THE DATA
INDICATES A NEED.
• EACH CLASSROOM TEACHER IS EXPECTED TO FOLLOW ALL IEP, 504, AND ESOL ACCOMMODATIONS FOR
INSTRUCTION AND ASSIGNMENTS.
DUAL ENROLLMENT AND VIRTUAL
• ALL DUAL ENROLLMENT CLASSES BEGIN MONDAY, AUGUST 17TH
• VIRTUAL TRAINING BEGINS WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12TH
• VIRTUAL CURRICULUM BEGINS MONDAY, AUGUST 17TH
• ONLINE DUAL ENROLLMENT CAN ALSO BE AN OPTION

CLASS CHANGE
• STUDENTS WILL BE ASKED TO WALK TO THE RIGHT OF THE CENTER OF THE HALLWAY
• MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED IN THE HALLWAY
• MORE DETAILS WILL BE UPCOMING OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS
RESTROOMS/LOCKERS/BREAKS
• WE WILL NOT ISSUE LOCKERS THIS SCHOOL YEAR
INDIVIDUAL RESTROOM VISITS
• CLASSROOMS WITH EVEN NUMBERS (EX. 200) WILL USE THE FIRST 30 MINUTES OF EACH BLOCK
• CLASSROOMS WITH ODD NUMBERS (EX. 201) WILL USE THE LAST 30 MINUTES OF EACH BLOCK
• 45 MINUTE CLASSES WILL NEED TO USE THE MIDDLE 30 MINUTES OF EACH BLOCK
• NO MORE THAN TWO INDIVIDUALS PER CLASS ARE ALLOWED TO GO TO THE RESTROOM AT A GIVEN TIME
• NO MORE THAN FOUR INDIVIDUALS ALLOWED IN THE RESTROOM AT A GIVEN TIME
• FACEMASKS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES DURING RESTROOM VISITS

• WE WILL ROTATE CLASSES DAILY AND ALLOW
A PORTION OF THE STUDENT BODY TO EAT IN
THE LUNCHROOM
• THE REMAINDER OF THE STUDENTS WILL
RECEIVE THEIR LUNCH IN THE CLASSROOM

DAILY EXPECTATIONS FORFACULTY, STAFF, STUDENTS AND PARENTS
PROTECTIVE EXPECTATIONS
• SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES OF SIX FEET WILL BE IMPLEMENTED AT ALL FACILITIES AS FEASIBLE.
• PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) WILL BE ISSUED TO ALL EMPLOYEES AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR
ON SCHOOL CAMPUS AT ALL TIMES WHEN SIX FEET DISTANCE CANNOT BE MAINTAINED.
• ALL STUDENTS WILL WEAR FACE MASK/COVERING WHEN SIX FEET SOCIAL DISTANCING CANNOT BE
MAINTAINED ON THE SCHOOL CAMPUS AND ANY TIME THEY RIDE A SCHOOL BUS.
• EMPLOYEES ARE REQUIRED TO SELF-CHECK FOR ILLNESS AND ARE REQUIRED TO STAY HOME IF THEY ARE SICK.
• PARENTS OF STUDENTS SHOULD CHECK CHILD’S TEMPERATURE AND CHECK FOR ILLNESS EACH DAY PRIOR TO
SCHOOL.
• STUDENTS SHOULD NOT REPORT TO SCHOOL SICK.
Expectations
Any person exhibiting signs of illness will be sent to the nurse immediately for evaluation.
A separate room will be set up for any person who is exhibiting signs of COVID-19 to be cared
for.
Few people will be allowed in the room, and the room will be disinfected frequently.
Students/staff will be walked out of the building from the room to persons driving them home.
We strongly encourage parents and staff to take the temperatures of their children or their own
temperature before entering the building.
CLEANING PROCEDURE
• AS SOON AS FPCS BECOMES AWARE OF A STUDENT OR EMPLOYEE THAT MAY HAVE COVID-19 OR
THAT HAS BEEN EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL OR RECOMMENDED TO SELF- QUARANTINE, THE
CUSTODIAL STAFF WILL BE INFORMED SO THAT ALL DESKS, LOCKERS AND WORKSPACES OF THE
PERSON ARE THOROUGHLY DISINFECTED.
• IF THE SCHOOL IS NOT OPEN WHEN NOTIFICATION OCCURS, THE CUSTODIAL STAFF WILL WAIT 24
HOURS OR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE PRIOR TO DISINFECTING AND INSTEAD WILL BLOCK OFF THE
AREA SO THAT OTHERS DO NOT HAVE CONTACT.
• HOWEVER, IF THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE OR SCHOOL IS IN SESSION, THE CLEANING WILL OCCUR
IMMEDIATELY.
HOME SCREENING
HOME SCREENING
• HOME IS THE FIRST POINT OF THE SCREENING CONTINUUM.
• PARENTS SHOULD CHECK CHILD'S TEMPERATURE EVERY MORNING. STUDENTS WITH TEMPERATURE
OF 100.4 OR HIGHER SHOULD STAY AT HOME AND CONSIDER COVID TESTING IF THERE IS NO
OTHER EXPLANATION.
• MONITOR FOR THE FOLLOWING COVID SYMPTOMS EVERY MORNING AND KEEP STUDENT HOME IF
PRESENT: COUGH, CONGESTION, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, OR GASTROINTESTINAL SYMPTOMS.
• TEACH AND REINFORCE PROPER HANDWASHING, COUGHING INTO ELBOW/TISSUE; NOT SHARING
PERSONAL ITEMS/SUPPLIES; SELF-REPORTING ANY SYMPTOMS TO TEACHER/NURSE.

OPTION• OPTION AVAILABLE FOR FAMILIES WHO WOULD RATHER THEIR STUDENT ENGAGE IN
ONLINE RATHER THAN IN-PERSON LEARNING.

• VIRTUAL CURRICULUM FEATURES COURSES IN MATH, SCIENCE, LANGUAGE ARTS, WORLD
LANGUAGES, SOCIAL STUDIES, AND ELECTIVES.
