When you start running below sixseconds in a 0 – 100 km/h sprint you’vegot a pretty quick car under you, andwe’re pleased to announce that abig-boost, water-methanol injected 86we built for a customer did just that –and quite comfortably too!

With boost running at 0.6 Bar thanksto a smaller pulley, and a boot-mountedwater-meth kit, we upped flywheel kW to around 265kW, with torque

climbing to 382Nm. On a warm Gerotek morning and

despite being on stock rubber andstandard pressures (note the wheelspinoff the line in our acceleration curve!)Jacques ‘The Stiglet’ Joubert dashed to100 km/h in 5.84 seconds, completing a400 metre sprint (quarter-mile give ortake two metres) in an impressive 13.7 seconds at a terminal speed of167.5 km/h.

Interestingly, despite the power curvehaving moved slightly up the rev range,this car lost very little in the way offlexibility compared to our 220kW‘off-the-shelf’ conversion. In fact, thetime taken to accelerate between 60 and100 in fourth remained unchanged at6.46 seconds.

A POWER INJECTION

Hi Steven (wrote this month’s HappyCustomer Brendan Benfield at the endof last year),Having now driven my car for the

best part of two days I have foundmyself so moved by the experiencethat I felt it necessary to write to youand thank you. Mine was an unusualand difficult repair and modification Iknow, and therefore you deserve mygratitude all the more. As luck would

have it I have had numerousopportunities between yesterdaymorning and this afternoon to takethe RS4 out for a drive and every time- without fail - I have caught myselflaughing, shouting, whooping andshowing off.
