Foundation Job Description: Medical Office Project Manager Description and Purpose: The Medical Office Project Manager will manage the Medical Office/Clinical Service Provider (User) component of the Foundation’s County-wide implementation of an electronic patient referral network. This position serves as one of a team of three project managers reporting to the overall network implementation project manager. See the attached Organization/Function Chart. This project builds a network for patient referrals from Primary Care Physician (PCP) offices to Specialty Physician offices and Imaging services. The network is based on commercial ASP software. Implementation requires customization to meet requirements of Humboldt County Providers and Patients. The first phase of the project is to collect the data for that customization. During the second phase of the project, the Medical Office Project Manager will work with (almost all) practices in Humboldt County to train the providers and staff on the new system. Duties
• Develop proficiency the network software. • Interview practices to develop a list of their orderable consultations, office procedures
and tests and radiological procedures. • Develop a list of clinical requirements for the above services by practice. • Develop patient instructions for the above services by practice. • Organize the data required and transmit it to the IT staff for coding. • Build scripts for computer generated phone calls to patients. • Train office staff and providers to use the network software. • Act as the point of contact for office staff and providers for training, problem solving,
and other implementation questions. • Develop and maintain training resources. • Monitor network utilization by office and intervene as appropriate.
Qualifications:
• Experience in a Medical Office. • Skill and experience helping to change workflow. • Knowledge of the local medical community. • Friendly and outgoing with excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Understanding and experience with IT. • Well organized, detail oriented and able to work well independently. • Ability to manage time efficiently and work on multiple projects at one time. • Present professional image at all times to the public and co-workers. • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
This is a temporary position. Actual hours to be negotiated. It is budgeted at half time for two years. Successful candidate must commit to the project.
