1. CUBE PLACES W H AT Y O U N E E D : “Small Places” and “Large Places” Activity Pages, cardstock, scissors, empty cube tissue box, clear tape, and wall tape

W H AT Y O U D O :B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: Copy “Small Places” on cardstock and cut on the dotted lines. Tape each cutout onto one side of the cube. Copy the “Large Places” Activity Page onto the cardstock and hang the pictures in different places at preschool level in the activity area. You will have six different pictures.

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: Choose a child to go first. Ask the child to toss the cube. Identify the picture that comes up on the cube. Ask the all children to do a movement to the large matching picture on the wall. For example, if the cube shows a picture of the grocery store, then the children will skip to the large picture of the grocery store on the wall. Movements include: skipping, hopping, crawling, spinning, frog jumping, and walking fast. Places are: grocery store, post office, school, dentist, playground, and around the world. Repeat the activity until each child has gotten a turn to roll. Be sure to use different movements each time.

W H AT Y O U S AY: B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: “We are going to take a trip today!”

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: (Hold cube.) “This will tell us where we will go! Just gently toss it (demonstrate) and see where we will go. (Look at the cube.) I see a grocery store! Let’s all skip to the grocery store. (Skip to the large grocery store picture on the wall.) Let’s roll again. (Choose a child to roll.) We are going to the post office! Let’s all hop to the post office.” (Continue activity.)

A F T E R T H E A C T I V I T Y: “Traveling was so much fun! Today we are going to hear a Bible story about how we can tell EVERYONE EVERYWHERE that Jesus is al ive !”

W H AT Y O U D O : B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: Place the mat in the activity area and place the cars nearby.

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: Allow the children to play with the cars on the mat. Encourage the children to drive the cars to different places on the mat, and ask them to say, “Jesus is al ive,” when they reach a destination on the mat. Repeat several times.

W H AT Y O U S AY: B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: “Let’s drive!”

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: “Use the cars to drive to places on the mat. (Point.) When you get to a place, say, ‘Jesus is al ive.’ Let’s see how many places we can drive to!”

A F T E R T H E A C T I V I T Y: “We can tell everyone everywhere that Jesus is al ive ! Let’s get ready to hear our true story from the Bible!”

3. FOUR CORNERSW H AT Y O U N E E D : “Four Corners” Activity Pages, cardstock, and wall tape

W H AT Y O U D O : B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: Copy the Activity Pages onto cardstock. You will have four separate pages. Hang one page in each corner of the activity area at preschool level.

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: Have the children stand in the middle of the activity area and say “We can tell _______ that Jesus is al ive.” You can say: doctor, police officer, firefighter, or teacher. Instruct the children to go to the corner with the picture of the person that you used. Continue the activity by saying the phrase for each picture and having the children visit each corner. Repeat as desired.

W H AT Y O U S AY: B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: “We have pictures around our room. There is a picture of a doctor (point), a firefighter (point), a police officer (point), and a teacher (point).”

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: “Everyone, stand in the middle. (Point.) Listen very carefully to what I say, and go to the picture that I am talking about. Are you ready? (Pause.) We can tell a teacher that Jesus is al ive . Everyone, go to the corner that has the picture of a teacher. (Pause.) Great job! Let’s do it again!” (Continue activity.)

4. TALKING PUPPETS W H AT Y O U N E E D : “Talking Label” Activity Page, Avery® #5160 labels or equivalent, small paper lunch sacks, crayons, and facial stickers

(Optional: You may choose to provide more supplies to decorate the puppet. You may want to use yarn for hair, googly eyes, and fabric for clothing.)

W H AT Y O U D O : B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: Copy the Activity Page onto the label paper and set aside.

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: Give each child a lunch sack, crayons, and the other supplies that you have chosen. Help the children decorate the side of the bag with the flap to look like a person.

A F T E R T H E A C T I V I T Y: Place the label on the back of the puppet. Help the children put the sack on their hand so that their fingers make the flap move as if it were talking.

W H AT Y O U S AY: B E F O R E T H E A C T I V I T Y: “Let’s make a puppet that can tell everyone that Jesus is al ive.”

D U R I N G T H E A C T I V I T Y: “We need to make our puppets look like people. We can use the crayons and other supplies.” (Point and do activity.)
