Cork Hurlers Lose out to Kilkenny Despite an encouraging
Allianz Hurling League
campaign, which saw
them finish second in
the league table, Cork
suffered a
comprehensive defeat
at the hands of Kilkenny
in the League Final, 3-
21 to 0-16. However,
Cork will take a number
of positives from the
game, and now move
on to concentrate on
their Championship
opener on June 24th.
Four-in-a-Row for Cork Footballers! Congratulations to the Cork Senior Football panel, management,
backroom staff and all involved in their historic Allianz Football League
Final victory over Mayo on April 29th. The win means that they join an
exclusive group of only three counties (Mayo, Kerry and now Cork) to
have won three Division 1 titles in a row, and it’s a fourth in total for this
team, who also won the Division 2 title in 2009.

The game was played in testing conditions, and Cork got off to a slow
start, trailing by four points at half-time, 0-9 to 0-5, but put in a
masterful second half performance to take the title on a scoreline of 2-10
to 0-11. Well done to all involved!
The Cork Footballers’ next competitive outing will be on June 10th when
they play either Kerry or Tipperary in the Munster Semi-Final at 2pm in
Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
Meet Your Heroes!!! In advance of the commencement of the Championships, Cork fans will
have a unique opportunity to meet members of the Cork Senior Hurling
and Football panels and management at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Friday next,
May 11th between 8pm and 9pm, so come along and meet your heroes!
